San Fernando has updated their municipal sales tax rates, effective yesterday (10/1). This affects zip codes 91340, 91341, 91344, 91345, 91346. These rates still show as 9% (state and municipal combined) but should now be 9.5%. Do you have an estimate on when the sales tax tables will be updated? It seems there's no way to manually adjust the rate in the meantime. Thanks!
I am new to Shopify (As of January 2014). The tax rates for California need updating. I am looking to shut down my shopping cart and process my own sales orders using a contact and order form template. The outdated tax rates are causing audit issues. Please advise soon so I can make a decision to stay with Shopify. Thanks.
You may have fixed San Fernando but what about all the other hundred or so districts? I provided Don't worry, My new site is complete and I will be cancelling my service with Shopify. By the way, as of April 2014 the tax rates for CA have been updated again. Good luck CA based Shopify store owners. I gave Matthew Butler from Shopify everything Shopify needed to update the tax codes:

Matt,
I think they only fixed San Fernando Valley, according to the recent post from Gareth (see last thread below). Almost all the cities in CA raised their sales tax rates and need to be adjusted. For example Milpitas CA is now 8.75% however Shopify still taxes at the old rate of 7.5%. I am still finding this will all my CA sales and have been paying all the sales tax differences waiting for this to be fixed. I am pretty disappointed as they are starting to add up significantly. I appreciate if you can have your staff audit all the CA sales tax counties as soon as possible because most of the state changed their rates last year. Thanks.

Hello Matthew,
Please see documents above from the California State Board of Equalization. These are the latest rates. I appreciate your help in this matter. I also attached a link below that may be of assistance as well. Please let me know once updated. Thanks.

Since California is an "origin state" (http://www.accuratetax.com/blog/destination-origin-sales-tax/), taxes are only charge based on where the product is being shipped from. (ie: the close physical presence in the state). In order for Milpitas taxes to be charged, you need to enter a physical presence for that particular zip code (95035 or 95036). If you do that, you'll see we do have updated rates for California.
