Including VAT on regular orders, adding VAT on at checkout for wholesale orders

Hi,

I've set up my store so that when users create an account and I tag them as wholesale, they see our items at wholesale prices.

However, I want these prices to be exclusive of VAT, which will be added on at checkout.

The only way I can find to do this is to not included taxes in any of our products site-wide - and just add taxes to the wholesale products - but we need to include taxes in our standard pricing.

Regular users will pay, say, £1 for an item - this includes 20p tax. Wholesale customer will pay 50p for the same item (a duplicated product listing), but then 10p tax should be added at checkout.

Is there a way around this please?

Essentially, I want some products with taxes (VAT) included and some with Vat not included, but added on as extra at checkout.

It seems like it should be easy to do.

Glad that someone else has this question. I'm just registering for VAT and just realised that I have the same problem - I need to show VAT included for retail customers and VAT excluded for wholesale. I'll just piggy back to see what answers you get.
