Hi everyone - we currently charge tax on all deliveries as it is done by our own staff members as a service item in our current system (quickbooks POS). I've selected "charge tax on shipping" in the tax settings, also contacted shopify help in making sure that our local delivery option on shopify is being taxed. However, every time I'm entering these shopify sales in quickbooks POS, there is ALWAYS a $2.17 difference since our delivery charge is at $25, which means shopify is not charging tax when the local delivery option is selected.
Is there a way to fix this?
Someone from the Merchant Tax support team gave me a solution to changing the shipping to be taxable. However, he said there's no way for there to be two tax rules for shipping - UPS shipping (not taxed) vs local delivery (taxed since we deliver it ourselves as a service). So we've just been eating the tax costs for the past 5 months. Has there been a new update that could perhaps allow this?
