Hello everyone,

I have a store since one month.

My store is on the outdoor niche (which is the right time of the year right ?)

I've spent over 300 $ in facebook ad without results.

And now I'm doing Instagram influencers, which I have good results.

But since 1 week I always do Influencers on Instagram and I have 0 sales.

I'm pouring money way and I don't know what is my problem!

My conversion rate is 0.6 %. I have the feeling I can't have a winning product on my niche :'(

Please help me! :)

Hi,

So many things!

The first thing if you are not confident of your product, go talk to people who you think are your potential customers and learn from them. Good old one to one conversation. Would they really buy your product. If not them, then who? You will get an idea of this by talking to them. And remember less interest in your product is just a polite NO.

For example if it is patio furniture, it may be something students don't buy as they are always ready to shift their things. It may be for families. Once you have a fair idea of the scenario and confidence in your product proceed.

Second tip is test. Do small tests and learn.

For example facebook ads WILL work. Everyone who says they don't work is not doing it right.
I'd like to know what audiences you have tried? Try different ones, all that you can be very confident about. Like

Audience 1) Runners and mountain bikers
Audience 2) outdoor vacation people
Audience 3) campers

I am really doing a lot of guesswork here because I do not know your shop or brand.

Layer each audience and refine it, keeping the volume large enough. I personally feel that for a B2C brand it should be 250,000 people at least. Choose cities where people are into outdoor activities. Choose male or female if your audience is likely to be one or the other. Narrow by age.

Test each audience at $20 only, or $15. Only if it works, spend more.

The first thing you look at is CTR. If that is high, OK, this audience is interested in your ad, unless you ad is just clickbaity and that's the reason people are clicking on it.

When you find the correct audience scale that. Blowing money without a tiny test that is successful will not help you. Because then you are just replicating failure with a budget, not success.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPEND MUCH:

Then use this app - OrangeTwig that costs only about $10/month.

This will do 3 things

1) Design social media posts for you automatically and schedule them across ALL the social channels, driving traffic to your store.

2) Provide you with the top instagram hashtags, so you can reach out to more and more people who are a good fit for your product

3) Help you run Daily Deals and offers, that will create urgency and get people to convert. It will promote the deals on social media by itself.

The posts will have images that look like this... showing YOUR product:

How I like to see it is: Get this going, doing things for you, while you try other stuff. At $10/month it is well worth it. Check it out - OrangeTwig

Hope this helps!

Hello, Thank you so much for that answer.

I am targeting hiking, camping and hunting niche Niche!

I have taken a lot of course to know everything I need to know to success!  :)

I know Facebook ads will work, it has to! I know it's just me and my targeting :)

But When I have traffic 0.6 % conversion rate is low right?

So I know I'm not showing the right product to the right audience:sThanks for Orangetwig I will try ASAP!

If you want we can talk further on facebook send me a message at: Thomas Laura Gio :)

I took a quick look at your store and it looks nice aesthetically.

Have you done the exercise of building a persona of your potential buyers? Specifically try to answer questions 'who would get the most value from your products'?

As an example, if a buyer lives in the San Franciso bay area and is planning a hiking trip, then:

  • Would I go the local REI and get my gear after trying or search on Amazon for it or buy from you online? (think about competition)
  • What's my incentive to buy from you specifically? Is it the price or a niche item? (think unique value prop for the buyer)
  • Would someone living in a smaller town that doesn't have access to an REI or a big box retailer be more likely to be your customer (think geography, can be great for targetting)
  • Consider creating urgency in ads - limited time deals etc.

Finally, take the answers from above and see how sharply if you can target your potential persona via Ads. Then test, test and finally, some more testing.

Also, think about alternative sources of traffic. Organic social media can be very helpful. Try partnering with hiking related group owners etc. on FB.

All the best.

Thanks for your answer!

My main customer profile would be men of 30 who love camping and hiking with friends and family! :)

I've thought about it, I provide content on social media so I build a real relation with my potential customer.

People who don't know my store and buy from us would be impulse purchase ! :)

Then I'd say that

  • You really need to poll a few people (cart abandon'ers) and dig into why they didn't buy. 9 out of 10 times, its the price. This is critical, specially if it's not the price. Fixing this will be a huge step forward.
  • "men of 30 who love camping and hiking with friends and family" - that may be too broad. Layer via geo or something to narrow it down.
  • Think about Who has an upcoming trip? who's looking for new gear now? Whats their immediate motivation to buy... and finally, which of these are targetable via FB? If not, what can you do to make it targettable (see next point).
  • One way to achieve the above is via content + retargetting planning beforehand - Push content like '7 tips for planning a trip to Half Dome or Whitney this summer'' and have FB pixel setup correctly. Then retarget these people - you know they have a trip or strong interest in one. This is just one example but the more sophistaced you get here, the better it is.
  • Eventually, don't loose hope. The longer you can last while doing these small experiments and iterating, the more likely it is that you'll succeed.

Hope this helps.

All of my abandoned carts don't answer me back:s

I layer it down with interest! :)

Their immediate motivation to buy is a special offer that I provide them just in front of their eyes! :)

I am making Retargeting, just need more data.

I don't loose hope I know this is a profitable niche and I will succeed ! :D
