A LOT of add to carts BUT no Sales :(

Hey guys,

I've been running my anime/game related website for a few weeks now.

I have been getting a lot of people adding products to their carts, but they don't convert into sales..
I'm very lost, I don't know what it is.

Does my website look trustworthy? Are the product images not good enough? Is it the theme I'm using? Is it the colors? Is it the product description?

Thank you very much for your time.

If you are getting a lot of products added to cart and no sales, then your store definitely needs some social proof. You must show your customers that they can trust you.
A lot of people achieve this by showing the most recent orders in their stores. (Those notifications of people who just ordered something.)
If you don't have any sales yet, then most of the apps for these notifications can't really help you.
But there is one which allows you to manually add orders from other platforms. And this is where you will use the trick. You just make up some orders like your received them on other platforms and add them to the app.
They will then start showing in your store, people will see that your store is thrustworthy and will make more legit orders. And these orders/sales will convince more people. It is a win win :)
Take a look at the app here https://apps.shopify.com/show-recent-orders There is a 10 day trial period where you can just test if it work for you :)

Hey Firzud,

I started writing out a response here but it turned into a looooong paragraph so I sent it to hello@otakupicks.com. Was that the best place to contact you with my answer?

I would look at demographics if you have that enabled on Google Analytics.  Do you have a lot of kids on your site versus adults?

I do like the app called Follow up Email for abandoned cart.  You can set up rules based on on basket sizes and whether the customer has purchased before or not. I have an abandoned cart email go out 3 hours later when the customer hasn't purchased before.  I wait 6 hours when they have.  I can also send a new customer a richer discount.  You can also change your offer based on the cart size.

I also like an app called Justuno for popups and exit offers.  You can set up rules for new and repeat visitors.  Also based on where they are on your site.  You can also make popups for Desktop and for Mobile.  This is more important now that google is penalizing sites with mobile popups.  Create mobile popup rules that won't fire until after they've been on the site at least 10 seconds or have visited at least 2 pages.

Cause I'm having a similiar problem and it would be intersting to hear your long paragraph response.
