I have a Shopify store selling limited edition prints.
Looking at a couple of other sites that I run I'm finding most customers are searching for the artist's name.
As an example, for the product I'm going to list below, I'd be hoping to be found by people searching for:
"Mark Hearld prints"
I'm just wondering if I should be doing more to increase the chance of this happening - for instance, should I repeat the artist name in the main product description too?
Here's the link to a sample product:
Any tips gratefully received!
There is some great information here:
Google usually judges sites on how many quality/relevant backlinks that you have to your site.
This is an interesting post on seo: http://powazek.com/posts/2090
I checked out your site and don't see any key words in your html page source. I have not used Shopify yet so I am not entirely familiar with the interface when you are building a site but I assume there is a place for each page where you add a description and key words. This will have a major impact on getting found by the search engines and would be the place to add variations of naming to help people find the prints. Hope this helps. I am attaching two images. The first is the page source from your site with no key words and the second is from this web site showing their key words in the header tags.
