Hello all

I have a problem displaying an article in the blog.

At this link: http://www.shoukochan.com/blogs/news , my latest blog post does not show up. Only the title is shown. While the title can be clicked, and we will still be redirected to the actual post, I would like the entire post to display on this page.

It is weird because my last 2 posts displayed properly, but the latest one didn't.

This is the problematic post. http://www.shoukochan.com/blogs/news/8658331-unveiling-attack-on-titans-rivaille-t-shirt

Any ideas on how to resolve this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hard to say without seeing how the blog overview page is constructed. I can tell you that one thing that exists in the problem post and not the others is this html:

<br data-mce-bogus="1">

In the past 24 hours I'm having the exact same problem. When I write a blog, then check the HTML this is what is automatically appearing:

<p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p><p><img src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/Mars Field team compost2.jpg" alt="" data-mce-src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/Mars Field team compost2.jpg"></p>

data-mce-bogus and data-mce shows up everywhere in the script (along with the image links coming up twice). When you try and resize an image (using the drag method) the script goes horrendous.

<p><br></p><p><img src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/Mars Field team compost2.jpg" alt="" data-mce-src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/Mars Field team compost2.jpg"></p><p><img src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/0023 M4 tank.jpg" alt="" data-mce-src="http://www.ecocsi.org/_uploads/image/CocoaCare/Programs/Program Update IPNI/Compost Training/0023 M4 tank.jpg" width="292" height="390" data-mce-selected="1">&nbsp;</p><div id="mceResizeHandlen" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: n-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 146.5px; top: 560.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlee" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: e-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 292.5px; top: 755.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandles" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: s-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 146.5px; top: 950.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlew" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: w-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 0.5px; top: 755.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlenw" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: nw-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 0.5px; top: 560.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlene" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: ne-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 292.5px; top: 560.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlese" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: se-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 292.5px; top: 950.5px; display: block;"></div><div id="mceResizeHandlesw" data-mce-bogus="true" class="mce-resizehandle" contenteditable="false" unselectabe="true" style="cursor: sw-resize; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; left: 0.5px; top: 950.5px; display: block;"></div>

This does not appear in any previous blog posts, however today when I edit old blogs this 'data-mce' is appearing on new edits. It actually happening site wide, not just in blogs.

Anyone know why this is suddenly happening and what is the fix? This means we can no longer post blogs without going into HTML and manually removing everything.

Thanks!

<br data-mce-bogus="1"> is added by the WYSIWG editor (being tinyMCE) but it should be removed on save. Try jumping into HTML mode and removing that whole paragraph and bogus tag completely - meaning this:

<p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p>

If you do that and it reappears this would be something to contact support about. For my own interest, are you both copy and pasting content into the editor, or just typing it?

Hi Jason,

Yes I thought it should remove on save too but it doesnt. Also, in a blog with 12 images and text its almost impossible to remove all the bogus tags throughout the post. But I will try. My eyes are going cross eyed. :-)

No pasting into editor, just typing.

It was fine 2 days ago, but now not.

If you had been pasting a lot of content in I could understand if the editor went a little 'weird' - it's quite decent but it can still get confused now and again. As you haven't done and pasting I would suggest firing off a message to support now. Point them back to this thread just in case others comment with the same issue.

Just in case it's something to do with browser cache be sure to give that a clean as well.

Ok so I deleted the bogus tag  <p><br data-mce-bogus="1"></p>.

What happens now is that you can see the blog title in the blog stream (see attached) but no content. If you click on the title then the whole blog with content shows.

The HTML script is still horrendous (like I pasted before) and its really not realistic to go through and delete out all duplicate images and anything to do with the mce tag.

Do you suggest contacting support for this?

Thanks!

Thanks Jason. I will contact support. I've already cleared the cache but thanks for the tip.

Looks like I am not the only one with this issue, however support has replied to the ticket I sent.

Below your blog post, there is a "excerpt" section. Paste everything that you want to show in that section and it should work out. My blog section after update: http://www.shoukochan.com/blogs/news

The good thing about this new feature is, you can paste just part of your blog post instead of having the entire length onto the feed. I have not heard an official Shopify announcement on this feature though, could have saved us some trouble if we were better informed.

Funny thing is there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the excerpt once you add one to a post.

I've taken to changing {{article.excerpt_or_content}} tags in the blog/article liquid templates to simply {{article.content}} for clients who have zero interest in ever using excerpts.
