Activating SEO Description

Hi

I know this has been talked about before, but the recommendations given didn't work for me.

I edited the SEO description for one of my products on the Product page. I saved the product. Several hours later, I searched for the product using Google. It came up, but the description was the old description. I linked to the product on my site and looked at the code. The meta description was the edited version.

I made this change last Thursday (it's now Monday), but the description continues to show up as the old one when I search.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to get my new description to show up on when someone searches?

Thanks!

Stephen

It can take a while for Google to re-crawl a specific page and process it.

In the search results you can click on the down arrow and select cache. It should tell you when the page was last processed.

You can go into your Google Search Console and do a Fetch then Submit to index. That can help speed up its crawling.

Even the, Google does not always use the meta description in the snippet. They use what they think is appropriate to the search query and pages content. The meta description is just what you suggest they use.

Hello Grosbeak,

It takes time to google to re crawl your website.

You can submit your site to google in google search console in that do fetch as google then submit to index. This will help you to crawl your website as soon as possible.

You can also see when google crawled your website in the search result page, click the down arrow button then click on cache button you come to know when the google crawled the website.

After crawling it might be update your upadated content in the page.
