I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues before (and knows how to fix them!)
- Our shopify analytics does not record all the Add to Cart events, so sometimes we see a Live add to cart, but a few hours later that event has not been recorded on the Shopify dashboard for the day. Its not just a matter of time, the event doesn't show up at all even a few days later. As a result we see a few days with zero added to carts and start worrying about whats going wrong, but then check the FB pixel and there are several more added to carts.
- Sometimes we try the FB add to cart Ads on Facebook Business Manager and it says there isnt sufficient add to cart data! I think this happens because the add to cart data is simply not being recorded on Shopify.
Anyone familiar with issues like these, and any advice on how to fix them? We've been stressing (we are a new business) thinking we're getting zero add to carts in a certain period but now we don't know if we can trust the data as sometimes we've done test add to carts ourselves (with incognito windows, VPN etc) and they just dont show up on the analytics!
I have that issue as well. And the way to test it, is to go to your website yourself and add to cart and notice that it doesn't calculate. I have a video recorder on my website so I can see when people are clicking Add To Cart and most days I have a 6-7% add to cart. Yesterday I have 500 visitors and 4 Add to carts. My sales are in the 2% range and something was definitely off yesterday. Another day last week I had like 40 something Initiate Checkouts and like 3 sales but I can't check the video replay to verify Checkouts.
Something is definitely off. I counted 30something video replays yesterday that were add to carts and shopify counted 4. It even missed my own add to cart. MASSIVE PROBLEM with analytics because I have no clue what my numbers really are so I have no clue what to adjust. Yesterday was the first day I've only made just 1 sale, had 4 such a huge difference in add to cart numbers and couldn't figure out what was happening.
What makes this even worse is that if Shopify isn't counting Add to Carts or Reached Checkouts, it won't be storing customer emails and this will throw off email remarketing. So yesterday I had 500 visitors and 1 customer. Tons of add to carts video recorded that may have been reached checkouts but no new customers added and no chance of email remarketing.
This isn't good.
