Added to cart vs. purchased percentages ...what should we be looking for?

We're a little worried, our added to cart and purchased statistics aren't what we expected. We've been trading for 10 months now and over that period our added to cart is 3.62% and our purchased is 1.64%.

I understand that however hard we work there will always be a difference between these figures but based on what we have researched we were expecting a purchase percentage of 3-4%.

Is there something obvious we're missing? Something that's preventing a sale completing? Any feedback/advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Craig, 

Have you tried taking a look at your abandoned carts? You can find this by going to Orders > Abandoned Cart. This could give you some insight into what is going on here, and you may be able to capture some of these lost potential sales. 

We also have some great analyzation apps that might be able to give you some insights to your customer behaviour as well which can help narrow this down.
