HI Everyone, I launched my store a few days ago & have had 2 orders. I've only been advertising on facebook so far. I'm just wondering when surfing the net (all different sites) quite often you see the same advert pop up for the same fashion store. I'm wanting to know who would be marketing these stores so that they get adverts out to nearly every site I visit?
Thanks in advance
The ads your seeing...Did you visit that website before? Many websites have re targeting codes on them. Meaning if you go to xyz.com, that site knows who you are. So when you go to cnn.com (for example), xyz can send you an ad directly on cnn. This is a simple set up in Google.
This is great to bring back potential buyers to your site.
Hi Helen -
Jamie's right -- this is typically called retargeting or remarketing. The general idea is to keep your site / brand in the minds of people who have already visited your site, and therefore have already shown some interest.
If you need any advice about online marketing and how to optimize, I know a couple of experts who could spend some time on the phone with you and answer any questions you have (or even help out). Let me know!
As Jamie pointed out, this type of advertising is called re-targetting or 're-targetted ads'. The premise behind these ads is that if you have visited a web page or product page for e-commerce, you've already expressed interest and therefore are more likely to convert into a sale from seeing an ad.
Besides google, you can use ad-roll. I've heard adroll is of the best ways to setup retargetting but I don't have any personal experience using them. I searched and found that they have a shopify app (https://apps.shopify.com/adroll-retargeting), so that should make it very easy to get started.
Also, thanks for leaving us a positive review for OrangeTwig. Really appreciate it :-)
