So I just realized that maybe it isn't such a good idea to just randomly or naively pick countries to show your ad campaigns.
For this one country, I was getting quite bit of traffic. About 150-250 a day. So I thought: "Woah! This is gonna be great, these visitors will most likely become customers with the amount I'm getting. So a week has passed and well...nothing.
I found it strange and I realized that maybe it isn't such a good idea to advertise in this country because after doing some research I found that the economy isn't doing too great for this country. Since the conversion from their currency to the US dollar is joke.
Would it be best to pull my ads from this country, focus on more stable economy countries and increase my daily budget?
Or is this the wrong course of action, am I acting too quickly? I really don't want to waste my money to false hope, since there are a tons of visitors and no real traction.
I've found the same thing. Some countries seem to attract a lot of visitors, but few customers. I tend to be very quick at pulling the plug for them.
If you're talking AdWords, then you can view country based reports and determine which ones make you the most money (via conversion tracking). You can then reduce bids or even stop them for the poorer performing ones.
If you have a limited budget, it may be best to just focus on the markets that work really well for you. Put most of your money on the top convertors and make sure you're not leaking money out to keywords or countries that just cost you.
