Duplicate webpages showing up in google??

So I've recently been trying to work on SEO and changing my product Titles etc. I've noticed that one of my product pages shows up twice on google search. Both links lead to the same product and start with 'https'. However, the title tag for both is different as is the meta descriptions. This is because I have changed it a view times but google is still showing the old one.

I'm not sure as to why the product page is showing up twice but with a different title tage?

I've submitted my sitemap multiple times.

I've attached a picture to show what I mean.

In addition to this, when I check crawl errors. I get numerous 404 response codes even though I've already set up 301 redirects. Would ressetting my theme solve this problem?

Hi Charla Leon from the community here

One cause is submitting this too often and not giving the search engine datbase enough time to delete the link.

A way to resolve this is, is ask for deletion (Google webmaster tools) and then resubmit the sites feed again clean * Note consult a person first if you have never used webmaster tools.

or you could  even wait to see if this goes away in the next few days

If you need any help let me know

Hi Leon,

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my query. I've looked up on this issue numerous times and your answer has been the clearest without the jargon, so thanks!

So it's simply a case of waiting it out really? Or as you suggested, delete the page and then re-submit the sitemap?

I'd wait it out. Google needs to re-crawl all the URLs you have created to find out that they now redirect.

To speed it up you can do a Fetch as Google then Submit in the Google Search Console for each URL you have used.

Playing with the sitemap will not help. The sitemap is just a suggestion on the URLs you prefer Googlebot to crawl. Google will still crawl whatever it finds, and will not ignore URLs that are not in a sitemap.
