I have multiple ads running on Facebook and Instagram for individual products and my Facebook Pixel is se up correctly, however for almost all clicks on Google Analytics I am getting 100% bounce rates and 0 time spent on my site. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there some kind of disconnect between the two?
Bonus Question: I set up my ads for Conversion Tracking/Purchases, Facebook seems to call a bunch of other events conversions?
Signed, Confused :)
Hi Derrick
Leon from the community here,
This was the first confusion me “The Facebook pixel and Google Analytics” ..
The main metric I would really focus on are conversions for sales and at a guess you have switched this option on for the store.
People bouncing around on the site could mean lots of things and can be very misleading
* These could be bots ..
* web crawlers
* Yourself ( exclude your ip from the reporting)
If you require any more help please feel to reach out
Try to focus on one reporting platform not everywhere the more code calling the more problems
It seems that your Google Analytics is firing fine. Could you clarify how Google Analytics is reporting things:
Are almost all visitors classed as bouncing?
If you do a realtime report can you see yourself visiting several pages?
Are you seeing data for all the pages on your website?
I also noticed that all your pages have a JavaScript error. This is due to a product name containing a double quote which is not being encoded. I'd fix that as it probably means a featurte is broken, and it could affect other code.
I'm seeing several errors on your home page.
The instagram code is missing a userId and erroring.
The Product Pro code is erroring because of the double quotes in a product name.
Three images are using http and not https, causing them to be blocked.
Facebook is sometimes warning that there are two conflicting pixels on the page. There seems to be one which is part of Shopifys code, and an independent one.
I presume this is regarding the site in your profile?
The images relate to the blog section at the end. In my case it still shows the images but the secure status of the page is lost. i.e. no green lock.
Product Pro is related to Notify Pro which is an app.
It might be worth reporting the quotation error to the Notify Pro people, and help improve their product. I bet a few stores are erroring without knowing it.
Not sure about the duplicate pixels. I can't actually see the warning anymore. Duplicating pixels from the same provider can cause problems. With Google Analytics it can cause double hits (symptom is a very low bounce rate), and with others it may cause JavaScript errors and only partial tracking.
