Facebook ads showing 3x more link clicks than Google Analytics

Hello guys,

I recently launched my first Shopify store and I runned some Facebook ad campaigns.

The problem is that Facebook is showing at this moment 94 link clicks for today but I have not seen that many visits in Google Analytics and Shopify Dashboard is showing me 41 visits from 35 visitors.

Is Facebook charging me for fake clicks or Google Analytics and Shopify dashboard are showing wrong numbers?

Also, if possible, I would need a bit of help from someone who knows Facebook ads better. I have spent around $50 so far on different campaigns and I have not received even a single Add to cart (at least that's what Shopify dashboard is showing to me).

Is this normal?

Thank you guys!

Hi,

This is a common problem. We faced it as well while lookint at Analytics of our Ads.

I found this article very well as it explains a lot.

Also, regarding your spend on Ads, request you to please share specifics.
What was the objective of your campaign? What was the Audience for your Ad? Were they shown your Ad for the first time?

You can email at karan@orng.es
We would be happy to get on a call to discuss in detail.

Hi Gardy,

Google Analytics typically has a 24-delay with the metrics it reports so you'd need to look at historical periods if you want to more accurately compare data. Also make sure your time-zone settings in both accounts are the same.

What type of campaign are your running in FB?

Facebook generally charge for all clicks on your ad not just the clicks through to your website.

Depending on the campaign type you might need to changed the report view to see website clicks.

I second what ShopGenius said. A "click" on FB isn't necessarily a click to your website. If a person clicks interacts in the ad in any way (for example, clicking on it to made it larger and easier to read), that's a "click" in FB - even if that person didn't continue onto the website.

The Landing Page View metric in Facebook should more closely correspond to the data in GA.
