Are you guys this superefficient or I just got lucky you stumbled on this thread?
What we want for now are simpler metrics. We just want to know how many visitors we got, from which locations, using which systems, where they came from and the pages they viewed. The kind of infomation you would get from Awstats.
Does hit do that?
I opened a private browser window after installing it. I browsed my site but I did not see the session in the report. Is this behavior normal. How often are the reports updated?
We do all of the above. Answers below. We offer free consults to all Shopify users - you can book a slot at https://hits-govind.youcanbook.me/ if you'd like a demo.
Well, a friend of mine found this thread and directed me to it. Here're the answers to your questions
1) "How many visitors"
Checkout "Customers" and "Sessions" on https://dashboard.hitsanalytics.com/basics/users?view=all
FYI, we track data from two sources, Shopify and the Hits pixel. The latter can only collect information from the date you've installed (as is the case with Google Analytics and any other analytics platform), so if you've installed just recently and your store is young, be mindful of this.
2) "Which locations, systems, where they came from and the pages they viewed"
Visit the segments page at https://dashboard.hitsanalytics.com/segments/customers/all. You'll see a city and country next to each customer. Click on any customers name and you'll see their activity on the store, including which products they visited/abandoned/purchased and when.
Another way to browse the same information is to look at it from a product perspective. Click on any product listed on https://dashboard.hitsanalytics.com/basics/products to view how many sessions it received.
Hope this clarifies? If you'd like a run-through, here's my calendar.
In Google Analytics, you can set up tracking of product impressions in a list (i.e. featured products on your homepage), along with the position they appear on the list, with their click-through rates. You can also see how much sales have resulted from those clicks.
The report is called Product List Performace and needs to be setup manually. Here's a screenshot:
What's your reason for not wanting GA? Seems like an strange request. No, there is not another GOOD free analytics software for Shopify that I know of.
Yes, Google Analytics is powerful but not enough, it only counts the session of a landing page. As a digital marketer, I required further trackings, such as how many people click on the A button or B button within a landing page. To do so, it requires another tool: Google Tag Manager.
But the problem is: setting up tracking using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics takes me TOO MUCH TIME and very DIFFICULT for new users. That is the reason I switch to PageFly - a Shopify Page Builder with Analytics Dashboard. This app helps me to create any pages and also integrate Google event tracking code to any elements. Data will be pushed to an Analytics Dashboard.
Really helpful, here is some inside looks:
Just want to share something, hope it helps ;)
