I'm having issues with the attribution of my conversions in GA. All my conversions are attributed to direct traffic.
I ran a test in Real-time, and I can see that as soon as I click on checkout permalinks, a new session starts as Direct and all information is lost in the process.
I can see that this problem has occurred before but it seems no solution has been found so far : https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Discussion/Problem-with-Google-Analytics-due-to-use-of-cart-...
Can anybody help with this? I contacted the help desk but I think they didn't even understand what I was talking about.
This is very painful as I'm running various campaigns for our client and it's impossible for me to figure out what's working and what's not.
I deleted all the extra snippets I placed in the code (GTM & Optimize) but it hasn't solved the problem.
Thank you for your help guys!
Have a great day.
Can you give an example of clicking on "checkout permalinks" (like a URL) where a new session starts as Direct and all information is lost in the process?
Thanks for getting back to me.
When users click "see cart" (voir le panier) or "proceed to purchase" (procéder à l'achat), a new sessions starts as Direct. Therefore the information about where the user comes from is lost.
URL example: https://inelle.co/cart
Does that help?
