There are no issues with Shopify and Google Image Search.
I have lots of customers that receive traffic from Google image search. Their products rank on Google Images.
Content rich, good PageRank... usual SEO will also help getting more coverage in Google Images.
At this time your site appears to have just few pages indexed, mostly collections. If it is a new site this is normal. Put more effort into SEO and results will come.
Hi, My site has been live since August. The only images that are found on Google image search are from the collections pages. I've read several threads about the CDN server causing problems for Google indexing the images. My site is all about selling images so if they could be found on GIS that would be great, if not that would be a real bummer.
Fotolia is a really well known site, they probably have tens of thousands of back links.
On all my clients sites the images are indexed and send traffic from Google Images. Most image nowadays are on CDNs
Focus on SEO, add proper title and description tags, add content to your product pages.
In google webmaster it says I have submitted 4709 images and that 0 have been indexed.
Only half of my pages get indexed. I think the bots became exhuasted and gave up.
When I search for the exact name of an image it doesn't appear in google image search.
When I put the URL where the image is stored under cdn.shopify.com...etc, the image is there. So google is not crawling the images at cdn.shopify.com and I don't think that I can ask google to crawl there because I'm not authorised to do so. The images have been online for months.
I've asked the bots to index individual product pages hoping that a thorough crawl will let google know about the product image location.
I'm not sure what to do from here.
I don't think you will ever see the Search Console reporting those images as indexed. They are on a different domain that is not part of your account. Google will not tell you about how it indexes files on that domain.
