Google Merchant Center warnings

Currently as of Dec.24th 2018, I have 810 "missing or invalid data[condition]" and 678 "Excluded Discovered - currently not indexed" pages in Google Search Console.

Is there an app that I can install and use to fix this? I don't know much about json-ld or microdata or whatever they are called, but I'd like to know if I can just ignore these issues if they are non-critical.

Hi There,

Uploading your products to Google Merchant Center and having them approved can be quite a complex task. Google requires additional infomation like Google Category, UPC on the product level and standing in all of Google guidelines on the website level. I ecountered with Merchant Center that wasn't approved for months due to those reasons.

You can ignore these, however ranking is associated to the quality of data feed, so adding structured data is recommended, but will not prevent your products from being listed.

I'm unaware of apps to do this, but there are some great tutorials online, you can find them by searching for : google shopping structured data for shopify

Thank you, i guess i'll just have to ignore those warnings. I searched for the phrase you provided, but the results are way over my head. seems like all the articles assume that the readers already know what structured data is and go from there. i'm still looking for tutorials that start from abc's.

It will be great if you attach Google Search Console errors screen capture. It will be my pleasure to help you. 

NOINDEX Tag may be the reason of exclusion of URLs. So make sure you don't have NOINDEX Tag on those pages.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't know how to do screen capture or where to look for NOINDEX thing.

I'm sure there's an app to fix these stuff for a complete newbie like myself. I'll post more if I find one. Thank you.

Nick here from Shopify. 

I looked into this for you and think I might have found something which can help. Google has an information page for missing microdata and their conditions which might be useful to you here. Google mentions you can use the data testing tool to help you identify and debug any potential issues. You can find the debug page here

Something else you could consider is to reach out to a Shopify Expert directly for help to fix this via a small task. Shopify Experts are highly skilled and could be more efficient and cheaper than an app in this instance. I also looked through the app store and couldn't find anything which fitted the mold of helping get this sorted out either. You can see the Shopify Expert small task directory page here

No problem at all my pleasure. 

It might be for the best if you are completely unsure of where to go or what to do next. Having a professional look after it for you albeit at a cost, but at least you would know it was dealt with properly and you can move on with the more fun aspects of your store.
