Google Sales Channel: no products synced, no signs of anything wrong

Hi everyone,

We've been trying to set up the Google sales channel and we think we've ticked all the boxes. We've gone through every step/requirement mentioned in the UI and the documentation:

  - Google Merchant and Ads accounts are linked.

  - Shipping policy is there and synced automatically.

  - Target Country (Spain).

  - All of the store requirements with regard to policies, payment providers, contact information, etc are met and the UI reports them as such.

  - Products are marked as "available in Google" and we've tweaked the usual fields such as category, custom product, mpn.

Yet, the product feed is empty. It's not that Google is taking long to verify products or returning them with errors, is that zero products are "pending" approval, zero have been approved and zero have been rejected. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

We can't find any hint whatsoever in the documentation or in the UI about what could be wrong/missing.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, but mmm, this surprising/confusing, the Google Channel app documentation doesn't mention the need for a separate Feed app in order to sync products, why would it be necessary?

where a respondent says:

If you connected your Shopify store using the Google Shopping APP in Shopify than it uses Google's Content API, which means there is no data feed. Follow the instructions in Shopify to connect to Google Merchant.

Which seems to be aligned with the Google Channel app description and documentation.

Would you expand on the rationale for your recommendation?

I'm having the same issue.

The only thing I can think of is the notification at the top of the page saying: "Due to Covid-19, you may experience longer wait times for Merchant Centre account onboarding". which doesn't make sense as the Merchant Centre API doesn't require people to run.

Sales Channel is not reliable. Use Google Shopping Feed App.  Flexify is good.

I was facing the same issue for a long time.

Solution that worked for me: Un-install & re-install the Google Channel App from your store.
