Google Search Console Domain Property DNS Question

We are working with a client to get their Google Search Console-verified via DNS so that we can get the domain property set.

We are following these instructions:

  1. In the Shopify-managed domains section, click the name of the domain that you want to edit.

  2. Click DNS Settings.

  3. If you want to make changes, then you can edit the following DNS settings:

  • To add a new record, click Add custom record, select the record type, and then enter and confirm the details.
  • To change an existing record, click Actions > Edit beside the record, and then enter and confirm the details.
  • To delete a record, click Actions > Remove, and then click Remove again to confirm.

However, we do not see DNS Settings anywhere listed? What are we doing wrong?

Hi JZRFT,

The dns management page appears to be down. The full URL of the DNS management page is: https://{{your-store}}.myshopify.com/admin/settings/domains/{{your-store-id}}/dns

The page appears to be down and the button to access it is also not visible. Wish I had a better answer! Noticed this earlier today...

Hi @JZRFT

As far as I know, if you are using myshopify domain - you won't get access to DNS settings.

Normally, these are the steps I'd follow since the Shopify tutorial seemed a bit too simple:

01. Create Search Console account, go for Domain option

2. Then, once I enter the domain, I get to this screen

To verify my domain, I'd need copy the TXT record for the 2nd line, then paste into my DNS settings - this is much simpler if you're using 3-rd party domain provider. I simply sign in to my domain provider. For example, I'm using GoDaddy as my domain provider

Now I simply add the TXT record to my DNS settings

Hope that my answer can be of any help - if it is, let me know with a like or thumb up
