I'm also getting excluded issues from Google Search Console. I don't have the script tag with the JSON data on my product page should I still remove the itemscope, itemtype and itemprop tags from the page?

Hi Alex - 

we are running into the exact same problem, but I am not able to figure out how to do this fix with the solution you were able to find. 

We are using the shopify minimal theme at lovelyantiqueprints.com. Where is the code that needs to be adjusted per your instructions? 

to narrow things down:

-I have submitted my sitemap multiple times (several weeks ago and recently)

-I have submitted the product portion only of the site map.

-I can request indexing individual product pages and that seems to work. 

-I have contacted google, but they have not provided a helpful response yet. 

- in one of your responses you write: "In the Google Search Console, when you go to Enhancements -> Products -> 'Either offers, review or aggregateRating should be specified' and select on of the Product Details page to the right there should be a section with the offending HTML snippet." I have to admit I am not able to find Enhancements and I am not able to understand what this comment really means. 

 As you can in imagine, we are a bit worried and frustrated that our work is not being discovered. We don't even know if it's on the shopify end or on the google end.

the problem that previous posters in this thread were having was related to the rich search results and specifically this - https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product - which for your Matterhorn example product results into this - https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/#url=https%3A%2F%2Flovelyantiqueprints.co...and it has no errors , just warning, so it looks like the microdata your "Minimal" theme uses is correct. So I'm assuming the reason your pages are not indexed is different to the one previous posters were seeing. 

 

Is there at least on product page that is currently included into Google Index on your store?

That was fast! Thanks.

I requested google to index a few products manually, which worked, but obviously that is not really a sustainable solution. Here is an example of a product page that was successfully indexed (I uncluded the types of warnings, too-seem to be optional fixes):

Discovered - currently not indexed:The page was found by Google, but not crawled yet. Typically, Google tried to crawl the URL but the site was overloaded; therefore Google had to reschedule the crawl. This is why the last crawl date is empty on the report.

Looks like google doesn't pickup the store's sitemap properly. 

 

I would suggest making a bulk change to all of your products, like maybe adding a dummy tag, to tell Shopify that all products have been updated, so that the lastmod would update in the product sitemap file. Then submitting the product sitemap to google via Ping as explained here - https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6065812?hl=en

 

Take a look here - https://lovelyantiqueprints.com/sitemap.xml after you update all your product to find the product sitemap reference.

Currently it is - "https://lovelyantiqueprints.com/sitemap_products_1.xml?from=3031106945105&to=4352845709393"

Hi Alex - 

I bulk edited all tags and now the product part of the sitemap is: https://lovelyantiqueprints.com/sitemap_products_1.xml?from=3031106945105&to=4352884244561. I used ping and submitted that and the https://lovelyantiqueprints.com/sitemap.xml. Now I'll probably have to wait and see for a few days. I will let you know.
