2 weeks ago I submitted my website to google search console but its saying that none of my pages have been indexed.
In fact, it says there is no data available for any of the links including: search appearance, search traffic, and crawl.
So far I have added my website to my property and submitted a site map.
Would appreciate any insights on how to use this, and simple steps I can use to get my pages indexed by google.
Thanks a lot,
Here is the thing about adding a property in Google. Search engine treads www.yourdomain.com, http://www.yourdomain.com and http://yourdomain.com are three different properties. You need to ensure that you have added the right property, verified it and the sitemap contains the right URL's. Consider manually requesting for indexing as well
Hey Tom, I'm not sure how familiar you are with Search Console, but here is an article.
Also, in Search Console, go to Crawl > Fetch as Google then Fetch. After the fetch is completed, you can request indexing.
First, Search Console does have some really powerful features, and will show you what's working and what's not, but it's not a replacement for some other basics you need to check on your site.
If your site has been around for a little while and you're not getting indexing, rankings, or traffic, check these few things first:
