Home Page and Pages/frontpage Duplicate Content Issue

Hi

I'm using the Home Page in the pages section for the main content on my stores home page. This creates a duplicate content issue as another copy of my home page content is at pages/frontpage. I have added a noindex nofollow tag to this page but the page is stored in my sitemap. From all of the reading on this forum it sounds like the best solution is to copy my home page content to my index.liquid file. I was just wondering how I go about this (as my site is live)? Do I just copy the code from the HTML editor in the pages section and paste it into the index file untouched? also in what section of the index file do I paste it?

Any help really appreciated, I've been live 6 months now and my search ranking is terrible.

A duplicate home page will not be a cause for ranking issues.

If google ever finds that duplicate it will decide which copy to use. It's highly likely it will use your true home page and practically ignore the other one. Just avoid ever linking to that duplicate.

The sitemap may encourage Google to crawl the alternate home page, bit it does not pay much attention to pages that are never linked to,

I'm not sure what this could be then. My home page used to rank well for fasting mimicking diet in Australia. I have relatively little competition in this area but my home page is now one of my worst performing pages. You can find my site at http://5boxfmd.com.au. Any help would be really appreciated.
