Title says it all - where do I put this code (and how) to get google webmaster tools to verify my code?

<meta name="google-site-verification" content="LLvcG6P8wvTcKL-RrhBEs8r9uGDrax06MzzaExDYvEY" />

You put that in the head section of your theme.liquid file with all the other meta tags.

... and then Google will 'crawl' your site and see it.

Yeah, I forgot to add that. In fact it will probably help to go back to apps for domains after you've done this and re-click on the verify now button. The CNAME method is definitely the faster way to do this.

You did not need to add it. That last thing I said (and probably should not have) requires no action on his part. Google is set to crawl the page after this on a regular interval so it will pick up the code before long. At least it's been my experience.

Really? I have had it take *days* when trying to get clients on GAFD service. They must have finally gotten that squared away.

Or maybe they once did and they got bad at it since then. I went through this last time in 2007 or 2008. LOL.

If your shopify site is password protected (maybe you're in design mode before launching), Google won't be able to verify until the password is removed.

I had forgotten about setting up the password, and was driving myself nuts with not being able to verify the site.

Hopefully this saves someone a bit of frustration.

I know it says to add where the meta tags are...but where is THAT?  I have put it in every single place possible but is says it doesn't see it!
