I have tried to upload product catalogs to Facebook manually and using Flexify app but have issues with both. Only 15 products out of thousands show in the catalog. I have also seen that I need to add 'microdata' to every product. I am not a developer/coder so I am not comfortable attempting this. I have the ads set up already, the only thing left to do is integrate the catalogs correctly. Can anyone help?
You are on the right track and Flexify is usually* pretty solid. When you are in the "settings" section of Flexify did you select "All products" as an option. Sometimes it will default to specific catalogs. Also, did you give FB enough time to populate - the data can be delayed sometimes. Here is a guide that might be helpful as well: https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-integrate-shopify-with-facebook/
Thanks so much for the clear instructions. It all seems to be good with the catalogs now but I keep getting this error when I try to finalise the dynamic ads:
Unsupported Creative Collection field: The advertiser has tried to specify a collection field `retailer_item_ids` These fields are not supported in DA. The reference documentation is: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/dynamic-ad
Any ideas how to fix?
I am sending a note to my developer and will report back on this tomorrow. I haven't seen this specific collection issue before but we have had issues in the past with categorization. Might be similar.
Try socioh.com (Disclaimer: I'm the founder). We do exactly this - make catalogs and DPAs.
In fact we make designed catalogs and not just plain catalogs and for FREE. And yes, our catalogs are solid & technically 100% accurate. Multiple Shopify plus stores use them. Lmk if you have any issues.
What are 'designed catalogs'?
