I'm feeling a bit disheartened and disillusioned. I can't figure out how to drive traffic or convert to online sales. I've tried some FB campaigns but I'm essentially just throwing money into a pit on that one. Is there anything obvious on my site that is holding it back? I've tried a print advert to with no luck. I've been doing lots of research but struggling to find good info- any suggestions for good blogs etc?
What am I missing? Or is progress just slow? I launched the site in August last year.

I agree with SEO Doctor on the importance of SEO, yet with non established website SEO, while essential, won't result in more traffic. Established websites, being present for 5+ years can easily improve their Google visibility with a strong SEO make over. Young brands however, need to focus on more manual methods: social media marketing, paid ads, backlinks, blogging and so on.
I recommend starting from a customer research and establish a customer persona - what type of customer would you like to attract - define gender, age, location, budget, interests etc. Knowing that will help you decide where this customer is likely to be active online [Snapchat or Facebook], what information are they looking for [written articles or video guides], and are they likely to spend money on paid sources or do they have DIY approach.
