Last weekend i set up my first shopping ads with the help of google support technical team but so far not traffic,
This morning had a call from one of their team to see how's going and said the ads is already running (even if don't appear in my own browser) but the bidding strategy need be changed so pressured me to increase the daily budget and change the cpc from a fixed max bid to maximised therefore more aggressive bidding.
In doing so wanted to link his account manager to my google ads account so can make this modification himself, after the call ended i unlinked thinking he needed access only for this modification, but called back asking to relink his account and keeping always linked.
Can you tell me if is normal practice give access to people you don't know in marketing even if is from reliable company? i'm worried can modify budgets etc without my authorisation.
Also someone ever heard of Lightning.force.com? i track a referral visit from this site both time i talked to this guy, it is possible google subcontract other company all their technical assistances, marketing sales tc?
In 15 years of doing google Ads I've never had a rep ask to link to an account via their own MCC... Nowadays if they need to access your account they send you a support request which you verify inside your account. I would be very wary tbh and I think you did the right thing to unlink after he made the change.
I have read about them using subcontractors for account support, though, bu have no experience on that myself I'm afraid, perhaps someone else in there can comment on that.
Please understand also that I am a total sceptic when it comes to anything Google suggests I do - most times it ends up not working (at best) and costing a fortune or tanking performance at worst. Sorry..
