I just launched https://www.SendAPenguin.com. I'm 100% certain if I can get the right traffic I will have a very successful site. Does anyone have any creative ideas to help get some initial traffic that can drive a solid word of mouth campaign. I have little to no marketing budget right now.
Over the last 6 months, I helped my boss to setup www.offshorecorpserve.com and recently we enhanced our SEO and we managed to figure out how to bring traffic to our website. We use google to bring traffic into our site and we determine the budget ourselves. Let me know if you need us to help you to setup.

I disagree with some of the comments above. Don't hire an agency or spend money on advertising yet. Do the ground work first. Unfortunately there is no magic, just manual work in the beginning to learn who your low-hanging fruit customers are (how is dying to buy this and not evenknow it yet?), gather their feedback and manually promote your product in places where they hang out, such as Reddit, Facebook groups, Pinterest, Craigslist, etc. That's free. Just needs work.
To figure that out who your clients are there's no substitute for getting out there and hustling about. Make a list of all possible target markets, which could be: "Affluent teenares olds that are into a particular brand" or "Adult gamers in the US" or "Middle class moms of teenagers", "20-30 olds with Peter Pan complex". Make a list of 10, 15 plausible target markets that could be relevant. Be specific. Then brainstorm ways to reach them.
As an example, this is what I'm doing here on the Shopify forum. I want to promote my blog posts, but growing traffic from zero isn't easy. I could just start dumping money on advertising, but it's much more worthwhile (even though it's a lot more work) to come here and be helpful to the people like yourself, which I identified to be in my target market.
If you want to learn more about the stages that every company needs to go through before they become successful, have a read at this post I wrote about it: https://blog.aftership.com/3-steps-to-start-using-data-to-grow-sales/
I hope you like it!

Andrew- Since you don't have a marketing budget, driving traffic to your site comes down to hustle and creativity.
Your site sells stuffed animal penguins. You have 3 styles of penguin.
Here are some marketing tactics you can try...
1. Research influencers and identify a top 10 short list. They should have little kids or have expressed a love of penguins or stuffed animals. Send them a penguin and a personal note with info about the brand, products, yourself, etc. Ask them if they or their kids enjoyed the penguins. Include a call to action to post a pic with the penguins and tag you.
2. To grow your follower base, offer to give the influencer a designated # of penguins to give away to their followers. To enter the giveaway people must follow your brand on Instagram and tag a friend . The influencer can pick followers at random. Before you launch the campaign, set up a shoppable Instagram feed. Try Pixelshop.io free for 30 days . When people come to enter the contest, make sure you have plenty of lifestyle images a like the moment people open up a penguin box and react with joy.
3. In a few weeks, Pixelshop will be releasing an affiliate/influencer marketing program. It's pay for performance. Stay tuned and I'll let you know when it's available.
To boost discovery and conversion massively, you can try simple product videos for your product page. Videos are more searchable and capture attention as well.
Here is an example of a video that can be made in 5-10 minutes which explains your product in a much better way as compared to long text descriptions - https://rocketium.com/@anurag/promote-your-products-with-videos
You can use this free online tool Rocketium to create videos in HD quality without the need of signing up or credit card. No coding or design skills required.
