Hey guys,

Just thought id drop by and start a discussion about my menswear label I started with my sister - Buba & La.

We are obviously running on a small budget here in terms of paid search and Facebook ads. But we really want to get our name out there. We have just started sending our packages to influential instagrammers (10k plus) to post pictures with our products but we were wanting to know what other strategies you guys have used with a very small budget. Do we need to change up our photos on our Social Pages? start pushing Pinterest?

Our website is www.bubaandla.com and our instagram is @bubaandla

We would really appreciate any feedback!

Thanks

Hi Benjamin!

There are lots of little tricks you can do to help your marketing mix on a small budget. One I would highly recommend is to optimize your blogging efforts! I noticed you currently have a blog that is hosted on Wordpress. If you were to host your blog posts on your Shopify Store it would do wonders for driving traffic to your products and website!

Here is an app you can use if you want to convert the blog posts from your Wordpress account to your Shopify store! https://apps.shopify.com/blogfeeder

There's also a lot of great info on how this would improve search engine rankings for your store here! https://www.shopify.ca/blog/13329281-why-every-ecommerce-business-needs-a-blog-and-9-ideas-to-get-yo...

Hope this helps :)

Thanks Calen!

We currently use the Shopify blog as well and started another Wordpress one too. Basically we mirror the content on both. Does this help in driving traffic? by having two blogs?

I need to link the Shopify Blog on our website abit better i believe. We are getting a decent following on instagram too (about 3800 - not alot but were getting there) - I was wondering if anyone had any great ideas on how to actually start closing sales from their instagram followers? Would a instagram only sale help? for example - use the code 'instagram" at checkout?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to also use a tool like https://www.hotjar.com/ to look at some screen recordings. I'm on the free plan!

Hey Ben!

Great looking website. I definitely would encourage you to make your blog more accessible with a blog link at the top of your website. Blogging is FREE and can generate the most brand awareness and revenue, in the long run.

I am looking into free shirt giveaway with instagram and hashtags. Maybe a "Tag 5 friends who might like this" and be entered to win a free shirt! Or something of the sort. This is also free!

Good luck my friend.

Nice website Benjamin =) Look for unique things that you can do to engage with your followers that can make what we like to call "super fans" example here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/cherylsnappconner/2016/03/12/how-bikini-luxe-has-engaged-and-enraged-on-...

Hello,

Love the website Benjamin! We also launched our site www.amanodesigns.co.uk in December and are pretty much in the same boat as you guys regarding marketing budgets by the sound of it.

Any chance you could tell us what sort of sucess you've been having with your influential instagrammers and what sort of things you've been sending them?

That's something we'd like to try at some stage but not entirely sure where to start....

Cheers, Sophie.

I started my store up a year ago www.divascloset.co.uk  . I started advertising on facebook with a small budget of £5 a day. With clever targeting i turned that into a huge profit and gradually increased the budget week by week.

What if you know nothing about blogs, instagram, twitter, etc.? I also have tried some Facebook advertising, which I did not find very useful. I tried Google adwords and I am spending more time trying to figure out all these system with not much result. I will say, Adwords is very complex, especialy for someone like me who is not computer savvy....Is there an easier way to accomplish my advertising goals? Thank you!!!!

Having duplicated content no matter what or where will penalize your website and store with the search engines especially Google. It is classified as Spam.  It is believed that having your blog hosted on your website is better than an 'off site' 3rd party one but I have also heard the opposite.  Do more research and be careful. I know people who have been penalized, de indexed and sandboxed and coming from that can take a very long time.  Good luck - Air
