Meta Descriptions - Keep it under 70 characters?

Hello everyone!

I have a question about meta descriptions and I need some input. I'm faced with two options. Keep my meta descriptions under 70 characters and risk losing crucial info about the product, but keep me cute story about the product, or go over and have the "..." on google at the end of my description that customers will see.

I'm open to all suggestions. Here is my two options:

Option 1:

Picture your son in this 3-piece romper outfit. It's totally adorable, isn't it? Dress your son as a little gentleman by ordering now before the sale ends!

Option 2:

Picture your son in this 3-piece romper outfit. It's totally adorable, isn't it? Dress your son as a little gentleman by ordering now before the sale ends!

Fabric & Care

  • 100% Cotton
  • Machine wash, inside out

See what I did with option 2? I added  in the fact that the product is 100% cotton, but lost the nice little boxed package description. I'm quite torn.

Advice?

Google typically shows about 157 characters in its description snippet, which is about what your example paragraph contains.

You could re-work your copy:

Picture your son in this 3-piece romper outfit. It's totally adorable. Make him a little gentleman. 100% Cotton. Machine wash. Order before the sale ends!
