Need help for the way to unified the link structure

Dear All:

I have a question when checking our site index effect, we now comes with a strange issue. Two links go to the same page. such as

1. https://store.aputure.com/products/al-h198

2. https://store.aputure.com/collections/lighting/products/al-h198

the 1st link is viewed from model SEO setting in background.

the 2nd link is viewed from people click store.aputure.com>products>lighting>H198

here the 2nd link was indexed by google engine. but the 1st one is not. I am thinking whats the inner differnece between these two links structure. And will it influence the SEO effect?

Last question is how can I able to descrease the link structure layout. like from https://store.aputure.com/collections/field-monitor/products/vs-5-1 to https://store.aputure.com/collections/field-monitor/vs-5-1 or others.

Because I think the lesser the hierarchy of link, the easier to be indexed by google.

Waiting your guys reply. Thanks.

That's interesting.

Link 2 contains a canonical tag pointing to link 1. This means it is asking Google to index and show link 1 in place of link 2. But Google is doing the oposite.

I suspect Google has never got round to crawling link 1, as there are no links to it. Or they have decided that you're wrong with the canonical tag, and they know better.

It should not have any negative SEO effect. Google is just de-duplicating your content in it's own way.

Hi Tony:

Thanks your quick reply. Your answer makes feel released.

I agreed with you point, that google has not crawl the link 1 though actually it has canonical, there are no links to it. However, this is a default setting by shopify.I personally prefer the link 1 can be indexed instead of link 2,because the link 2 structure is not easy and slow to be indexed.
