Noise sent to Google Analytics?

Having implemented the GA tracking snippet in Shopify (for some of our customers), we can see that Shopify sends the following two events to the Google Analytics property:

  • ga("send", "event", {eventAction: "client_attributes_checkout", eventCategory: "All", eventLabel: undefined, eventValue: 0, nonInteraction: false})
  • ga("send", "event", {eventAction: "undefined", eventCategory: "undefined", eventLabel: undefined, eventValue: 0, nonInteraction: false})

Can anyone explain us what these two events mean?

Steps to reproduce event client_attributes_checkout (install Google Analytics Debugger plugin for Chrome)

  1. Open https://scitylana.myshopify.com/ (I have created a test shop, for the validation purpose)
  2. Select product (Startup)
  3. Click Add to cart
  4. Click Checkout
  5. View the output from the GA Debugger in the console under Developer Tools

In particular, it is important to us to know if these two events are necessary in order to measure conversion rate accurately in GA.

We would like to filter them out of our data, but we are uncertain if this will impact sessions and user count in GA.

I hope soneone can help,

Thanks
