Probably a Dumb Question!

Hi Everyone, I've just been searching google for some of the items that I sell in my store (searching for the exact product name) and my site doesn't show at all in the search results. Is this just because it's a fairly new store or is it something I've missed? Any advice appreciated.

I did a site search on your domain to see how well you are indexed:

First impressions showed a good set of indexing, but as I tried some of the links, most went to 404 Missing pages.

I presume you have been moving around your collections and product pages?

This will not help, as the search engines are not keeping up with your changes.

A good move is to verify your website with the Google Search Console (GSC). There you can see a lot of reports from Google about how well you are indexed, any issues, and even what search results you do show up for.

Search engines look for reasons to rank you for specific queries. This means you need pages that contain original and valuable content that relate to what a person is looking for. I looked at a few product pages and they were practically blank, with no product description. Same with your collection pages.

The only information search engines have is the heading/title of a page and how the pages relate to each other. That's not much for them to go on, especially if there are 1,000s of other pages on the web that provide more information about similar products. Google will send people to the page they thing is most likely to answer what the person was looking for. A blank page will not be on the top of their list.

In the Search Console, goto the Search Analytics report and switch to view Pages. See which pages Google think are worth ranking. What do they have? I bet you it is content.
