Hello,

I started a swimwear online shop around one month, only got one sale. In recent weeks, I am trying to target South Africa since there is now in summer. I got about 100-200 traffic a day and a few add to cart. On average there are 1-2 customer reached checkout process and filled in their shipping information, but they didn't completed the purchase procedure. May I ask is there I did something wrong in the payment setting or other reasons? Any experts or people from South Africa can help me to figure out the problem?

My store URL is www.deasuraswimwear.com

Thanks a lot.

Hi @Averyyip !

As @PRIMLYNK commented here, connecting with a good audience is essential, but it can sometimes be a difficult task. So let me recommend that you should start using tools like Google Ads, which can help you bring quality traffic to your site. You can download our app Google Ads & Google Shopping (Over 1200 reviews), with which we can create Google Ads campaigns for free for you (there are other functionalities that will be only available with our premium plan but for starting with Google Ads, our free plan will be enough!)

I hope this has helped you, and if you have any other question please feel free to ask me!

Hey,

I just wanted to give you a bit of perspective when it comes to e-commerce sites. You can expect to have between 1-2% conversion rates until you have really optimized your site and business. Around 96% of visitors won't buy something on their first time on site. This makes it extremely important to re-engage with past visitors by creating audience lists / email lists for remarketing.

Just my opinion but looking quickly at your site, I noticed that you are shipping worldwide and that your shipping times are "a bit long" in the day and age of instant gratification. I'm based in the United States and most companies will have your item to you in less than 5 days (usually quicker). I find it hard to think that many people will be willing to wait a few weeks to get their order, if so they would have to be highly motivated fro that item to purchase with a shipping timetable like that. If you were selling a proprietary item that nobody could get anywhere else than it wouldn't be an issue. If I were you, I would look into finding a shipping partner in the areas you sell your products, so that you can dramatically reduce shipping times. One final note, you have multiple spelling errors on your footer, get those fixed up to show a polished professional site. Not trying to pick on you, just pointing out a few suggestions to improve upon. I hope this helps you to not be discouraged about not having the amount of business that you expected at the start and gives you motivation to try improvements to your business. Always be testing. If you put in the work and resources, results will come. Stay positive!!!

I am currently running ads for a retail apparel site based out of Cape Town South Africa. If you are interest in getting some extra help from me shoot me a message

Hey!

I just had a look at your store and found out three things that you may want to consider:

Remove the shipping charge and include it in the price of the product:

As your shipping rates are very minimum i.e. $1.99 and $3.99, it's best, in my opinion, to remove the shipping and include it in the price of the product. Why I say this because one thing online shoppers hate more than anything is paying for shipping. Removing it in your case will be in the best interest.

Reduce delivery time:

Huge delivery times are a big turn off when the product can be found at some Walmart or a local store. People would rather jump on Amazon to get their product to deliver quicker.

Include express payment with Paypal:

There's no express payment gateway on your website. That means I have to go through the process of giving all my details and then putting in my credit card information. In this day and age, no one has the time to fill up so many forms in a go. So, I would advise you to integrate PayPal express checkout for your store.

Security symbols on your product page:

Another big objections buyers have when purchasing online are secured payments. They are not sure if the payment gateway is trust worthy or not. And when they don't see their favorite provider i.e. Paypal, things tend to become sketchy. The solution for this is to clearly mention on the product page and the checkout page that all the payments are SSL secured and safe. Also please include PayPal/apple pay or anything.

I hope this answer helps. It is my first answer on this community forum. Hoping to add more value consistently

Start accepting payments with PayPal if you aren't already. Also remove shipping costs and increase product prices if necessary.

Hi @Averyyip

I think the reason may be your store checkout process is complicated (with many steps ) or your store does not have a multi-payment method. so that your customer do not want to complete the purchase. I would recommend you read this article: How to Convert Traffic into Sales for Shopify stores?.

Hope it helps!

Hello @Averyyip, I hope you are doing well! here are some suggestions:

- Add a Favicon.

- Add a section of new arrivals, trending, recently viewed on the homepage & product page or you can simply install AiTrillion & enable product recommendations.

- Setup timers to promote your offers on the store. AiTrillion has pre-designed templates of announcement bar, timer & sales motivator bars.

Setup web push notifications on your store and it will help you in reaching your customers and visitors directly.

Start giving loyalty points on activities like on signing up, allowing for push notifications, follow or share on social media, on birthdays, visiting a store, leaving a review. This will help you to entice your visitors and will also increase the number of push subscribers, reviews, newsletter subscribers. A loyalty program helps in increasing sales and increase the retention rate.

If you would like to implement the above features/ customer engagement or marketing tools in your store. I would recommend you to install the all in one Shopify app AiTrillion. I am sure you will find it useful.

Hope this Helps!
