I'm looking for help with Google webmaster tools.
I've one site that I seem to have listed twice, so two properties are showing on Google search console. It bothers me that there are two and am not sure which one is important.
Wondering whether I should delete one and if so how do I go about deciding which?
Hi Jess , Leon from the community
Hmm a Google question but i think we could help a little, what you are looking for is the site that’s has been least indexed.
Then compare and take the action required
Sitemap both pretty much the same.
219 submitted and 210 indexed. With 111 images.
It was me that updated sitemap and guess I did both.
Going into it more. On that search console screen, two properties, one is showing an older out of date front page. That one ( http://tugboatbrews.co.uk) shows Google index - index status - total indexed - 738.
The other ( http://www.tugboatbrews.co.uk) which has the newer current front page, shows total indexed 0
Guess that's some of my confusion. Should I delete the latter even though it is showing the newer, current front-page? Awfully confused.
Here is the million question which is make the most revenue?
compare and take the action required

You can't actuallt delete one. Un verifiying just means you lose access to the data. Google still has it, and uses it.
You actually have 4 potential sites for your store:
The shopify system redirects all www sites and drops the www. So those are not important, and not the sites you want to make your formal site.
Your store is appearing on both http and https sites. Https is the secure version and therefore preferred.
Unfortunately, you site is not fully conforming to the https requirements,so is not showing up as secure. In particular, your subscription form is not secure. I'd look into that. Once that's fixed your https pages should show the green lock indicating they are secure.
Then you should be able to set shopify to force all traffic to the secure version. I think it's in domains settings.
At that point https://tugboatbrews.co.uk/ will be your preferred site, and the one you want to focus on. All other sites should be redirecting to it.
I would verify all 4 sites, as Google recommends, then go into settings for your preferred site and select it as the domain you want Google to display.
That is also the one where your sitemaps will be of most value.
Thanks Tony. Interesting that you mention the ssl. It come up a while back as an option and I decided to ignore it. Sort of figured that it might cause more problems that it solved. But reading through
it seems quite straightforward and perhaps a good thing to do early on.
The green lock in the address bar is your proof. If you don't get that, then browsers typically have a developer tools option that will report issues like security violations. In Chrome, Crtl Shit I will open it.
Ok. Then all four of these
have their own sitemap. Should I update all four sitemaps and leave in place?
And on all four the - search console - site settings - perfered domain - have the same three options listed.
Don't set a preferred domain
Display URLs as www.tugboatbrews.co.uk
Display URLs as tugboatbrews.co.uk
I choose the same option for each property? If so which?
Appreciate your help.
