Segment POS customers

Hi,

We have a Shopify store connected to Mailchimp. I appreciate this isn't technically ecommerce marketing as per the forum category, but hopefully someone can help.

We want to be able to segment customers that have purchased from our POS locations in order to market to them seperate to our Shopify/website database.

Is this possible...?

Hi, John. 

This is Max from the Shopify Guru Team. 

One solution I have in mind would be to filter customers based on Sales channel and choose Point of Sale. Or filter by Location > Address on the Customer page if you have any different ones listed. You can then save these filters to review and /or export at a later date. 

I would suggest making use of customer tags. You can add customer tags for those who buy in person, or any other particulars you might want to distinguish. Then using the Bulk Editing feature you can refine your search and/or export details. Having tags is also useful for editing reports at a later date.

There dosen't seem to be any option to filter customers by sales channel!

If there is please explain how, this is a much needed function for us, as we run POS+Webshop.

I can't see any option to ad tags when creating new customers in the POS either, which could have worked.
Seems like a simple functionality that most companys running POS+Webshop would need.

Max, again. 

This option is available to all shops. If you go to the Orders page, and click Filter orders > select Sales channel , a new drop-down will appear for further specification and a list will become visible depending on the channels installed in your shop. Select a value and then you can view the results. 

If, for some reason, this is not working, please clear the cache of your browser and check for any updates on your device. Then attempt again in the same browser or use a more robust one, Google Chrome tends to be pretty reliable.

Hi Max,

Thanks for the link, the question was about filtering customers -not orders

If you briefly scan through the "filter customer list" you link to in your answer to John, you'll see sales channels is not available for sorting customers.
