The template I provided over one year ago still works. If you're using the Shopify Buy Button, I suggest you remove all the funnel steps and just use the final destination URL that is provided.
If you don't understand regex, then a simple solution is to set the destination URL equals to:
I'm not using shopify plus and my URL also looks like this:
No problem to target this with a regex, but still when I set up the funnel using urls like "/checkout/customer_information", "/checkout/shipping", and "/checkout/payment" nothing appears.
The reason I think is simple: when querying my pageviews for "/checkout/customer_information" or even "customer_information", from the pages report for example, I don't have any pageviews. I can only see pageviews for the thank_you page, the rest is not available (shows 0).
Is the checkout data restricted since I'm not using Shopify Plus?
Thanks for your advice,
I'm really sorry if this question has been asked before....we're using a 3rd party payment gateway here in Malaysia and I realise that the return URL from the payment gateway wasn't been included when shopify and the payment gateway was being setup. Which means that customers weren't going to a thank you page AFTER the payment has been made via that gateway.
I now need to give the return URL (thank you page?) to the gateway so that customers are taken to our store's thank you and confirmation page after their purchase. Reading the thread above, could I confirm that this is the URL it's supposed to be?
Thanks a million!
I'm looking at an example order confirmation page, and I don't see any "thankyou" anywhere. Seems like the entire URL string is unique (except for my store ID).
For example, my order confirmation/thank you page looks something like this:
So how do I translate this into a Google Analytics trigger so that I can track a purchase when a customer hits the "Thank you" page?
Refer to my tutorial as suggested. It is a plain step-by-step guide.
I've brought this up many times. It doesn't matter what URL you see in the browser. This is not necessarily the data that gets sent to Google Analytics. Shopify sends its own page URL data.
