we have an ad campaign running through a third-party provider. These ads are shown on blogs and news publishes and link to our blog.
In Google Analytics we see only the the Name of the ad provider as the referring source and not techcrunch, theindependent - sources where our ads are shown.
In Shopify Analytics we do see the right referring website. So it works way better for us, to see which sources work for us or not.
Normally this information would be stored in the browser in the object property: document.referrer
Now I'm assuming this information is stored in other properties and GA takes the one property and Shopify the other.
Does anybody know which property that might be? OR any other experiences or comments on this?
