i wrote in 2 different Language (English & Arabic) in the page title and Meta description in order to appear in the search when people write in any of those 2 languages.
Does this affect seo? is it a nigative thing to write in 2 different languages and its better to keep only one language or it doesnt matter and i Will appear in both searches?
Google typically picks one language per page, based on the content. And that will help a page rank for users who have identified with the same language.
So I would try and create alternate pages for each translation. Not just the meta data, but the content needs to be in a language.
Search engines also support hreflang. This is a way to tag pages with information about translations of the content. Google uses this to serve the correct language variant of a page to people. However, that may be hard to correctly implement in Shopify, I'm not sure,
I have a similiar question related the dual lanuage issue.
We are going to set our site dual language. Is it possible to upload all Chinese materials and direct to only Chinese version if I set one link? here is my site example store.aputure.com for test store.aputure.com (now we are using google translator)
The translate is a good option actually, especial for other language, such as french, germany and so on. Thats what we are trying to do now. But we are a Chinese company. We also would like to upload material by hand.
In conclusion, we actually want to control two languages by ourserlf, for the rest of lanuages, it's ok if we use our-source service. Can we achieve that?
Hope your reply.
All the best
It seems that Shopify does not directly support multilingual sites. But there are some apps that are designed to do it.
One way to do it is to have two stores, one per language.
