Hi Shreyansh,

If you have too many backlinks, it can actually hurt your SEO. If you're a top contributor on Wiki though, that can be powerful for your backlinks that are actually on Wikipedia.

I wouldn't use .wiki, .gov or .edu for commerce, though. Only for educational/government purposes.

.Gov and .EDU backlinks tend to bring more link juice to your pages, when compared to .com, .info or .org.  

However, I would also focus on developing a natural looking backlink profile from all pages, by paying attention to your anchor text. 

The Google Penguin likes to a websites backlink profile in this format:

30% of your Backlinks should have exact match anchor text (in this example your exact match keyword would be "red apples")

The best red apples

30% of your backlnks should have partial match anchor text (the words "red" and "apples" appear in the keyword phrase, but not together)

The TLD (Top Level Domain) like .edu has no direct influence on the power of a domain. The difference comes from the fact that those domians tend to be more tightly controlled, and tend to get linked to a lot. That's is what can make them more powerful.

Make sure when you develop link, they are link you earn.  I would suggest building awesome content and then doing outreach and pointing the right people to your content.  However, it is good to build a relationship with them before.

But, if you found any malicious or unnatural backlink then you need to remove them immediately.

To do this,

Step 1: Go to the disavow links tool page of Microsoft.

Step 2: Select your website.

Step 3: Click Disavow links.

Step 4: Click Choose file.

One of the best ways to build backlinks to your site is to start a blog and create awesome content.  Then you should do outreach in your niche and form relationships.  Once you have formed the relationship, then see if you can get the link.  The key is having someone to offer that other person that can help them and when you pitch them, just focus on how you can help them.

Backlinks from the relevant site are more powerful as my point of view. because there are more chances of getting traffic and to convert them into client or visitors.

.edu or.Gov are better than .com and .in or any other. Try to get it from relevant blog or article site. or else it will be useless.

I'm trying to gain more knowledge on how to get quality backlinks to my site http://www.prelovedandperfect.com.

I've drafted an initial blog post about why I set up the site. I'm unsure how to use this content though to gain backlinks to my website.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but can anyone explain the best way to use this blog post get backlinks?
