Can I get some sting and critic feedback on my store please?! Thank you!

Started on 15 March, launched on 30 March, till now 400 visitors, not even one checkout reached.
What do U think about the interaction of the design, colors, aestetics in combination with the image of the store?
I tried to give it a "special" value for the customers, can anybody see what it is?

Hi there,

 

I don't think you're off to a bad start, but you can definitely make a few tweaks. Here's what I think:

  • When I opened your store, I immediately got two pop-ups. I instinctually closed them immediately, but I would definitely steer away from them as not many people care for them.
  • If you want to include the trademark symbol, I would move it closer to the actual text.
  • The copywriting needs some work. I like that you included a short intro to this the new collection, but the text itself doesn't make a lot of sense. The same can be said about the product descriptions and the descriptions in your slideshow. 
  • It might be a good idea to specify what charities one would be donating to. If you want to give customers options, make sure to be clear about what they are. A lot of people are not very familiar with specific charities even though they would probably be eager to donate some of their purchase to them. If you need help picking out a charity, I would strongly recommend Charity Navigator, Be sure to pick charities that have a five star rating.
  • I would remove "ATTITUDE IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA" and the little blog excerpt. If you'd like to maintain a blog, you can always link to it, but be sure to keep it active. It looks a little off the way it's currently featured in your home page and I recommend to keep only relevant information in the home page. Think of it like a business card: if people want to learn more, they go to the appropriate links and pages.
  • Why are you citing Petco in your code of ethics? I think you could repurpose that page as a mission statement or even include your mission statement in your "About" page.
  • Your "Legal Notice" could also be repurposed to be included in your "Contact" page.
  • Your return policy needs to be customized: "Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned."
  • Your privacy policy also needs to be customized: "soerenshop.myshopify.com" is listed as the website in question when it should be liberodoggo.com.
  • You don't need to include your social media on your contact page if you are already linking to it under the footer menu. Your Twitter however is not included there, so perhaps you may want to add the icon. You also have quite a lot of emails there. Are they all being used?
  • All of the pages linked in your footer menu would benefit from a little redesign. Use bold and larger font type to separate different sections, include pictures in your about page, and keep everything as short and sweet as possible.
  • Your "Products" page is really skewed to the right. I would recommend centering it and making the product images as large as possible. You might also want to include a dropdown so that customers can immediately find the kind of product they want.
  • Let's talk about niche for a second. Your website is called Libero Doggo, and I'm expecting to see dog products. However, you also sell cat and human products. I don't really think that's the best way to go about it because the pet niche is highly competitive as is. Not only that, but you have 18 dog products and 14 cat products, so almost the same amount for each. I would also think of a perhaps more targeted approach for exactly what dog products you want to sell.
  • I would not include the "Price" or the "Percent Sale" options. I think the latter button is super useless because no one will specifically look for an item that's, say, 15% off as opposed to 10% or 25%. They just care if something is on sale. Also, I would remove "Title" and "Availability." What is the difference between tags and product type?
  • Image quality isn't very consistent. One image even has the original brand's (?) name on the upper left corner. 
  • Product titles could use some tightening up. Make sure that everything is capitalized properly and the titles are short. and sweet.
  • All of your "Size" options are empty. There are also a lot of them, for some reason.
  • The product page is kind of messy. You don't need to include the full dimensions as the size of a product. Rather, you can include that in the product description. I don't like the countdown sales buttons because they can read as a little desperate, especially if you're drop shipping. You also don't really need the "Secure Checkout" buttons.
  • Your product reviews make the page super long. I'm not a fan of that kind of layout, so I would recommend a more traditional layout where customers can choose to load the images. Another thing about the reviews is that they link to "AliExpress" twice. That's not a good idea. People familiar with AliExpress, and that number is growing, can easily find the product you're selling on AliExpress. I can see now exactly how much the original vendors are charging and what your makeup is. Another problem is that you're aggregating reviews from here so these people did not purchase from you directly. A lot of the reviews are also in Russian when your website is entirely in English, which can raise a few red flags for customers. Not only that, but under "Customer Reviews," at the very bottom, it says "Be the first to review this product," but you already have reviews.
  • The icons inside the "Share" buttons are drooping a little down.
  • The "Rewards" page isn't a bad idea, but this kind of rewards program works best for a company that is already established and can provide perks for their customers. I think it's important to build your brand and social proof first.
  • The "Lucky Project" page is also a little strange, maybe because I don't know what I would be donating to, exactly.

Love the space style backpack you are selling. Seen a few people post about them on Twitter over the last few months. Here are some tweak I would make to your store

 

Homepage Feedback

  1. I got two popups within 30 seconds of being on your store. Try not to have this happen. One was for a newsletter and one was a discount I believe
  2. Add a section for customer reviews when you get them on the homepage. This is going to help build trust

  3. Add a section on the homepage for most viewed/bought products. This will help show off what you sell. Just having the one backpack is not enough

  4. Carousels kills conversions rates ... use as few images as you can on any carousel. We say 3 - 4 carousel images max on any site

  5. I would move your FAQ, about us, and rewards  to your footer as links. 

 

Product Page Feedback

  1. Add your shipping and return/refund policy to all product pages. This is something that buyers look for. 

  2. Add a section for most viewed/bought products at the bottom of each product page

  3. Add a longer product description. Have fun with this and use this space to build your brand. It's not easy to write these but this is where you convince someone to buy. Some products had longer vs shorter descriptions. Try to keep all product descriptions be a similar length

  4. Remove the "Secure and trusted checkout with" as this does not build trust. Put it in the footer if you really want to keep it
