There are visitors to my store but they are not spending more than a minute there.  Any help that you can give me would be much appreciated.  I would like to know how to write things so that the website gets more hits on google.  Are the visuals too distracting or acceptable?

I just had a look into your website and it's amazing. Below are some of my thoughts on how to improve your site and increase website’s visitors.


Detailed Product Description: Provide a detailed product description to users it creates a better understanding of the product and also it will help to increase ranking for keywords.


Blog: Blogging increases website traffic so you need to focus more on this. Search engines also give higher preference to regularly updated websites over those that update sporadically or infrequently. For most small businesses, updating your blog one to three times per week is a realistic and effective schedule.


FAQs: It's a nice practice to help user guide regarding their purchase by answering their queries. People are more likely to purchase when they know you have taken time to guide them and you have displayed the full knowledge of the products it builds your trust.


Write a review: This is a great way to win customer trust by providing them authentic reviews of the product so add write a review section on your website and display it with the aggregate rating.


Site structure: Site structure should be based on keywords. The overall design and architecture of information on your website should be structured in a logical way. Do some keyword research that your customers are searching for.


Live Chat Support: A website with no live chat is like a store with no sales assistant. Start a conversation with your visitors and turn them into happy customers. So integrate live chat support on your website.


Try Offers and Discount: try free shipping promos and money-back guarantee offers on your product.


Sticky Header: Your header is fixed but the menu is not. Sticky header is something that remains fixed to the top of the website, and are visible even when you scroll down. It gives a better navigation experience to the user so fixed header with a long menu.


Scroll Back to Top Button: You can create a scroll top button to take a user at the top of the website to improve your website’s overall user experience.

 

Ads: If you want to increase sales I would recommend to start off Facebook or Google Shopping ads. It becomes easier to get conversion faster and grow your business with the help of Ads.

Hey Scrub,

All the elements of the main menu should have their first letter capital. The logo should be shifted to the extreme left while, the sidelinks ie (Login, cart and search bar) should be removed from the header template and shifted to the extreme right as well. Some other suggestions for modification of your store into a more unique and decent one is as follows:

  1. The latest store trends and product designs can be best shown by adding "New Arrivals" to the homepage.
  2. The "discount or free shipping" offer should be placed in the middle of the header template whose color needs to be bright as well.
  3. Addition of "Twitter and Linked in" to the footer would make the customer association even more strong.
  4. Multiple newsletters occupy unnecessary space which is quite undesirable. Only a single newsletter in the footer is desirable for the latest updates on discounts, promotions etc.
  5. A full-width central banner will definitely help in eliminating the unwanted white space on its either sides.
  6. "Bestsellers" are a must for depicting site specialty.
  7. Helping customers to decide better can be facilitated by adding product reviews below each item.
  8. For better advertising and enhancing customer belief and trust, Testimonials and Instagram images are a must.
  9. Keeping all discounted products together can be made quite easy by adding "Sale" section to the main menu.

  11.  Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

1. The first fold of the website should always have a call to action in it - 

And here’s why; in most cases placing the CTA above the fold works wonders for your campaigns. This placement immediately draws your visitors’ attention to your CTA which is always good for conversions.

2. You can give product recommendations by personalizing the consumer shopping experience through gathered data, you can give better suggestions to your customers, which will then increase the likelihood that your customers will purchase a suggested product.

3. You can have rich snippets for your store. Generally, rich snippets have a much higher click-through rate. If the click-through rate of your snippet increases, the amount of traffic generated will then be higher.

4. Start a referral program, it helps in increasing sales and creates brand awareness. You can ask your customers to refer a product to their friends and family. When the product is referred by some known, people tend to purchase the product. The referral program helps in increasing sales. You can give a reward for referring the product.

5. Add a web push notification. It turns visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers. It can be sent even when customers are not on your store and bring back losing the customer to your store. You can also send an abandoned cart push notification, it helps to reduce the abandoned cart rate.

Your store lacks any branding. Right now it feels like a boxy store using a free theme. You should work with a designer to help bring out your brand and make your store look and feel unique.

 

Homepage Feedback

    1. The title tag for your homepage says All Natural Coffee but you sell face scrub. I would work on changing the default SEO items on your theme

    2. Image on the about page is really small

    3. Carousels / sliders have been proven to lowers conversions rates ...limit how much you use the one on your site. No one is going to wait around to see what is on each sliders

    4. Make sure the main product images for each product has the same theme / style as some have white vs non-white background right now. This is going to help tie your site together when people are looking at your collection pages

    5. Consider adding a Featured Product section on the homepage (i.e. Scrub Of The Month). Pick one products and tell people why you picked it and what makes it great


Product Page  Feedback

    1. Make sure each product has 3 - 5 images as that will help someone decide if they want to purchase. A lot of products I saw only had 1 or 2 images

    2. Add a section for customer reviews when you get them. This helps build social proof and makes it easier for people to trust your brand. Ask past customers for reviews is a great way to get this started

    3. Make sure all your product images are the same size and dimensions as you add more to the product pages

Hi,  

I have gone through your site. Though it looks good, there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales.

 

Logo & Favicon :

Logo & Favicon -- Your logo should highlight your brand name. Add a favourite icon so users can locate your webpage easily.

 

HEADER & FOOTER :

  1. Header -- Have a sticky header and a clear smart search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for.Also a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator must have features. Login icon must be there for buyer account creation before purchasing.
  2. Footer -- Optimize your footer with more professional and functional look and also highlight your newsletter sign up so people who follow your brand will receive more updates about promotions and sales. There are legal policy pages which are missing in the footer that must be included for authenticity and security purpose

 

HOMEPAGE :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive.

  1. Banners & Branding -- Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc
  2. Color, Font & Branding -- Over All Text, Font , Paragraph , Alignment , Spacing , Padding etc should be more elegant so that your store looks well-organized, neat and visually appealing. Maintain the same or similar colors and fonts throughout your store to keep your  branding intact 
  3. Featured Collection -- Add all the top featured collection on the homepage so users know the type of products you're selling on your store.
  4. Featured / Bestseller products -- Engage your customers by letting them know the bestseller products on your store                                     
  5. Testimonials -- They add to the trust factor as when customers see what other buyers have to say about your products, it makes them more sure about your brand.
  6. Highlight your USP -- What's unique about your brand that none of the other Shopify merchants have? This needs to be highlighted in your store presentation, features & more.
  7. Trust Badge on Home Page -- This is important as this helps to build trust and assures your customers that your brand is authentic

 

COLLECTION PAGE :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer.

  1. Banner adding on Collection page -- Make your collection page stand out with interesting & creative collection banners
  2. Product filter for easy navigation -- Categorize & filter products by their size, color or type so users find product to product navigation easy.
  3. Product Label -- Product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’ must be there must be there for the ease of the buyer
  4. Product Showcasing -- Clear product title and description , high quality images , reviews , related products , color swatch function, grey effect for sold out products , product labels . All these features make your store much more convenient, authentic, easy to use and user friendly.
