www.chartermainproducts.com (Charter Main Products) just launched Feb. 19th so we would really appreciate feedback from the Community.  We hope we do not appear as a "newby" company but rather a large, well organized business.  Presently, we are limited on products but will be expanding outside of mugs, pencil holders and posters.  We are set up on Google Analytics but no other social media at this time.  Should we add Product recommendations/Testimonials now or wait until we expand our product line more? 

 

Really appreciate your feedback, we have used the Community for help in the past and trust your judgment.

Your store looks really great, it looks like you've put a lot of work into it and it shows!

You have also done a great thing by reaching out to the community, where not just Shopify staff, but developers and fellow Store Owners will also add to the store's feedback for you. I will list some things below for you to consider, that I really think will help your store!

 

  • The first thing I would highly encourage you to do is, adding a favicon to your store. A favicon, or favorites icon, is a small square image or logo that appears next to a web address. Adding a favicon to your online store can really help strengthen your brand and add a polished look to your website.

 

  • Next, having an about us page is very beneficial to your store, and can tell more of a story about your business. Telling your story is important, and it will keep customers coming back to your brand. I see you already have some information within the footer menu which is great, but I will share this guide with you on how you could expand your story, putting more information in this can prove to be very successful for your store. Here is an excellent guide about the power of an about us page. 

 

  • Another option you could use to build your store is by having a blog. Blogs are a great way to keep your customers engaged and encourages them to come back to view more content and newer products. Here is an awesome resource for Blogs.

 

  • Two points you mentioned about social media, and product testimonials I will also give feedback on as both are great points. I would highly encourage them both being added to your store. Social media like Facebook and Instagram can account for about 60% of all traffic to new stores so I would recommend adding them to your store. I will share a video below of how you can do this in your Shopify admin, and display them in your footer menu. 
  • Then with regards to your question about adding Product recommendations/Testimonials now or later on, I would say to add it now as it will help bolster your site once more products are being added to it. We have a fantastic free app called Product Reviews, which will allow your customers to leave reviews on your store after they purchase a product or service. Then as you add more products to your store, you will already have some that have some testimonials and feedback added to it!

Hey Charter Main Products,

The store theme needs some changes which if ignored, can hamper its overall potential and performance. Some of the important suggestions of mine to get a new fresh store look are as follows:

  1. The "Search bar" should also be placed on the top right of the header apart from being a part of the footer.
  2. Apart from being a part of the dropdown, the Cart and the Login should also be placed on the top right of the header for a more systematic header look.
  3. "New arrivals" are a must for knowing site trends and the latest product designs as well.
  4. For better site identification, a favicon is a must.
  5. A unique header template should be designed to highlight amazing discounts or free shipping offers if any.
  6. "Sale" section should be a part of the homepage for keeping all discounted items together.
  7. Social links are a must for better customer connectivity. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc should be added for strong customer association.
  8. Footer elements should be rearranged in the following order: Footer links to the left, newsletter to the right and social links below both of them.
  9. Add product reviews below each item to enhance customer choice and decisive power.
  10. You should add terms and conditions and FAQ’s if any, again these also help in building search engine content.
  11. Instagram images are a must for better brand awareness and promotion.
  12. Contact form is a necessary part of the "Contact Us" section.
  13. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  14. Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

Hi,  

I have gone through your site. Though it looks good, there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales.

 

Logo & Favicon :

Logo & Favicon -- Your logo should highlight your brand name. Add a favourite icon so users can locate your webpage easily.

 

HEADER & FOOTER :

  1. Header -- Have a sticky header and a clear smart search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for.Also a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator must have features. Login icon must be there for buyer account creation before purchasing.
  2. Footer -- Optimize your footer with more professional and functional look and also highlight your newsletter sign up so people who follow your brand will receive more updates about promotions and sales. There are legal policy pages which are missing in the footer that must be included for authenticity and security purpose

 

HOMEPAGE :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive.

  1. Banners & Branding -- Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc
  2. Color, Font & Branding -- Over All Text, Font , Paragraph , Alignment , Spacing , Padding etc should be more elegant so that your store looks well-organized, neat and visually appealing. Maintain the same or similar colors and fonts throughout your store to keep your  branding intact 
  3. Featured Collection -- Add all the top featured collection on the homepage so users know the type of products you're selling on your store.
  4. Featured / Bestseller products -- Engage your customers by letting them know the bestseller products on your store                                     
  5. Testimonials -- They add to the trust factor as when customers see what other buyers have to say about your products, it makes them more sure about your brand.
  6. Highlight your USP -- What's unique about your brand that none of the other Shopify merchants have? This needs to be highlighted in your store presentation, features & more.
  1. Trust badge on Home Page -- This is important as this helps to build trust and assures your customers that your brand is authentic

 

COLLECTION PAGE :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer.

  1. Banner adding on Collection page -- Make your collection page stand out with interesting & creative collection banners
  2. Product filter for easy navigation -- Categorize & filter products by their size, color or type so users find product to product navigation easy.
  3. Product Label -- Product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’ must be there must be there for the ease of the buyer
  4. Product Showcasing -- Clear product title and description , high quality images , reviews , related products , color swatch function, grey effect for sold out products , product labels . All these features make your store much more convenient, authentic, easy to use and user friendly.

  1. Features like custom swatches, product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions and  cart drawer that will make your product page more interactive and user-friendly.
  2. You Can Add Sticky Add to cart / Buy Now Bar on Your Product Page : Demo Example

I just had look into your website. I observed few points on your website, I hope those are helpful for your website.

-> You can use open new tab on the links on the footer section and items on grid page, then customers are spent more time on your store.
-> Add Gallery images.
-> I am unable to find refund policies on your website. Having a well-thought-out return policy clearly displayed in your store is key to attracting and keeping your customers. Simply You should give confidence to your customers, You can add it.

Great store. A wide range of products will not let you miss on sales.

- And, yes you should add testimonials and product recommendations. You can give product recommendations by personalizing the consumer shopping experience through gathered data, you can give better suggestions to your customers, which will then increase the likelihood that your customers will purchase a suggested product.

- Add policies in the footer.

- Start a referral program, it helps in increasing sales and creates brand awareness. You can ask your customers to refer a product to their friends and family. When the product is referred by some known, people tend to purchase the product. The referral program helps in increasing sales. You can give a reward for referring the product.

- Add a chatbot to make sure you never lose any of your customers. Every visitor can be your customer.

You can start giving Loyalty Points and Rewards to WOW your customers. This will increase repeat purchase and customer lifetime value by giving points and rewards that give customers more reasons to return to your store.
