Great work on the site.Your Logo is looking good&simple. Please review again and work on it to have attractive look further.
Try to modify the page so as to bring the main contents to the header and footer sections respectively.
On the Homepage there is no BANNER. please install any good banner on the page so there is a chance to update latest collections or upcoming and current running offers on the banner. it is further good if you make sliding mode of banner on the Homepage.
The product images are not realistic (looking like posters). please upload the images which are realistic look reated to your collections.
There is no terms and conditions acceptance checkbox at checkout. As it is important to provide before the payment process. After providing all policies in the site install any good Terms and Conditions app to avoid the issues related to refund or return policy etc.
I didnt find any reviews on your products. Reviews will help to improve your sales to next level. I suggest to install any good Customer Review app. Since most of the customers are concern about reviews before they purchase any product.
ABOUT US: There is no page on the site related to about us. Add something related to your store and the reason behind your idea , aim etc.
Overall the site is Good. But there are few modifications need to be done once again review the site to have professional look.
All the Best.
Hi Emily! Maggie, Shopify Partner here :)
The first impression is that the yellow + blue color combination is too strong for an ecommerce store - while yellow and blue can work together on the websites, consider going for bit of toned down colors, to make your site more user-friendly for all users and screen resolutions.
I like that you are displaying your products on the homepage and above the fold - this way people can see you are selling your own design apparel, which is great for conversion. Consider adding a welcome image at the top with a message introducing your apparel to the first time visitor, such as: “Shop Handmade/screen print tees” so people are assured as to what they will find in your store.
Product page - you have a great selection of colors for the Tshirts, which is great, and I love the matching accessories. When I clicked different images on this product: https://emilybrowncreates.net/products/imagining-rothko-i-unisex-ultra-cotton-tee it felt like the images were computer generated, and gave an impression the finished product might not look equally good. Consider ordering each of the colors of the Tshirts and Hoodies and organize a photoshoot. Have a niece or nephew wear the Tees to the photos, you can take the photos in the garden or in the park. The photos of someone wearing the garment will help you significantly boost sales. People will be able to see how the Tee looks on the person, what’s the total length, how the sleeves fit etc. It will be much more user-friendly approach from the buyer’s point of view and can help you bag more sales.
Make sure to add trust signals as well: Shipping policy, returns policy, contact us page, and about us page. These can also help you improve your conversion rate. Many online shoppers often look for this info before placing an order, to find out the shipping cost, or contact details, so having these pages easy to find can also help you boost your conversion rate.
Social media - make sure also to open the social media icons on your website in a new tab, so you don’t lose the valuable traffic. Please check this helpful guide: https://help.shopify.com/en/themes/customization/navigation/open-external-links-in-new-browser
You have a top promo banner with the text, but as it’s not hyperlinked to any offer on your website, it doesn’t add anything in terms of conversion:
Consider utilizing this space by mentioning a free shipping offer [when applicable] or latest arrivals, and link to the relevant product/collection. This way people can click further, learn more about your business and spend more time browsing your website, which is one of major Google ranking factors.
Your SEO score is 59/100
Consider working on the Google snippets for each page and collection. Consider also optimizing your homepage meta title and description:
Consider writing inviting and defined values here, as these are displayed in the search results and are often the first things people see when they come across your website. Learn how to write better meta titles and meta descriptions in this tutorial: How to SEO your Shopify pages.
H tags on your homepage also need optimization:
H1 tag is displaying some exposed code of the image or a logo that has been inserted into the header yet the closing tags were not properly inserted, so make sure to look into that.
Make sure also to insert the H tags in the right order [H1-H2-H3-H4 etc.] in order to boost your SEO. H tags are perfect spots for the target keywords, so make sure to include your target key phrases here too.
Consider also working on the text content on the homepage in order to rank for your target keywords. Your most frequently used words are: regular price, regular price from, price from, imagining rothko - make sure to aim to rank for words such as: hand printed tshirts, hand made tshirts etc. in order to appear in the most relevant searches.
Consider also adding Google Analytics to measure where your traffic is coming from, which are the best converting sources, and where you should focus more with your marketing:
Work on the mobile responsiveness too - your homepage has a different layout on a mobile, which might affect your conversion rate:
Make sure to optimize your website so it’s mobile friendly and responsive. Google now follows “mobile-first indexing” which means it indexes mobile version of the website first, before the desktop version, so having the layout not responsive may affect your Google rank.
You have no backlinks yet, which is perfectly normal for a brand new store:
Backlinks are important when marketing your website, although they are often overlooked. Backlinks are powerful, as they are permanent - they won’t disappear from view, like a social media post, after few days or weeks. Once created, a backlink works in the background on your website rank. While you won’t see the results right away, with the right backlink strategy, your website can climb the Google search results. The higher it gets in the results, the more people click on it and visit your store. Therefore backlinks are also great source of relevant, organic and permanent traffic.
When it comes to boosting conversion rate, website design is not all. You need to work on your SEO to make sure you target the right [transactional] keywords, in order to appear in the most relevant search results for your niche and bring visitors ready to buy, credit card in hand.
