Feedback on my store - high traffic, low sales

Hi, 

 

I'm hoping we might be able to get some feedback on our Shopify store.

 

We launched the site about 5 weeks ago and began running ads on the Google Shopping platform 4 weeks ago. 

We launched with about 40 products and since then have continued to add products and now have close to 200 products on our store, all of which are being promoted through Google Shopping. 

 

We did extensive research on the niche and have continued to optimise ads over the past 4 weeks, but so far we've only had 1 sale. 

We added trust badges, a satisfaction guarantee and a trusted site badge about 5 days ago, as we read these were particularly important for high-ticket sales. 

We're seeing good traffic through google shopping (approx 100 users a day), and this is continuing to grow. We also set up dynamic remarketing ads on Facebook and Google Display which have been running for about a week.

 

It feels like we're doing everything we can but still not seeing any sales. Perhaps this is to be expected due to long conversion windows on high-ticket items? 

Would be very grateful of any feedback we could get on our site so we can improve our conversions.

Thanks very much for getting back to us on that. 

 

We actually already have a lot of email flows set up on our site including browse abandonment, abandoned checkout, and a pop up to collect subscriber emails. 

In terms of review requests, we do have an automated email set up for that as well, although we'll have to wait for sales to come through before this will start sending.

Maybe you target too broad keywords? I think there are less than 100 people interested in buying pool tables online in the UK daily.

 

Do you observe your users? Check hotjar, smartlook or yandex metrica to see what they do on your site.

 

It'd be good to provide more photos. Your products are expensive and people would like to see all the details of your products.

I have done a lot of Google Shopping in the UK and higher ticket items are always a challenge to sell. For one, your ticket price is how Google determiners to show you an ad. Plus not everyone is going to want to buy something this much online... they will want to go to a store. I would say you should good at doing search campaigns on Google too. Maybe even look at Microsoft ads, as that ad platform can have a slightly older audience, which would have money to spend  on a pool table. You can easily import your campaigns from Google into the Microsoft ad platform.

 

Overall your site is good and beyond some minor tweaks, there is nothing I would change. Hope you found this helpful, if so please click "like" below to let me know.

The above people have pointed out some very good points.

 

1) Relevancy is very important, while all search terms might have a connection to your product, some if not half may not be relevant in the sense of selling a pool table. And maybe are looking for a kids pool table or just cloth, balls, cues, etc... For a normal person, they would not spend so much. If you search online, for example cues start at £15.

 

2) Google Shopping is heavily focused on prices, meaning the cheaper you are, the more traffic you can get.

 

3) Most likely you are using Smart Shopping? If so, you should not use Shopify to create your smart shopping and instead go to Google Ads and setup a standard shopping campaign, and currate your traffic. For example setup a multi campaign setup where you can highly specify what to target.

 

Sometimes for high ticket items, you may only get a few sales to maybe 1 or non in a month.

 

So carefully choosing the traffic quality is very important for you. Don't try to get anything related to pool tables. As that may increase costs with little return.
