I have state my online store around a week ago, I am new to drop-shipping and would love to hear your honest feedback.

Hi Sids !!

 

 

I’ve gone through your store and found that there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales. Here is a page-by-page/sectional review of your site:

 

Header & Footer :

Customize your header and footer with specific functionalities. Your header should offer a smart search bar where people can type in the products they’re looking for.  Example of Good Header 

Also, create a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator and let your social links open in a new tab so your customers don’t have to leave your store to check your social media pages. Footer can be more professional and functional as its is too board now and also add Payment and security badges in footer section for the store security purpose . Your newsletter must be highlighted so people who follow can have the your brand can subscribe to receive more updates.

 

Home Page :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive. Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc. Below the hero banner, create categories for all your products in a slider that engages customers. Your Unique value proposition should be highlighted on your homepage.Announcement bars, product slideshows, featured collections, display instagram feed and make your homepage SEO friendly to increase your site traffic and conversions.  Example of Nice Home page  

  

Product Page :

There must be separate interactive and user-friendly product page with features like  product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions, cart drawer and a sticky cart with a sticky add to cart and buy now button. Example of Ideal Product Page

This improves user experience as they don’t have to go back and forth from the product to the cart page and vice versa.

 

Cart Page :

Integrations on your store :

How do you plan to monitor your site performance and track conversions? 

Simply set up and integrate Google Analytics, Facebook Conversion tracking and Google Search Console with your store and get to know who is visiting your store, their demographics, which of your Facebook page viewer converts into your buyer and your store’s ranking, impressions & clicks  on Google. 

 

Besides these tracking methods, make sure the following is included on your store:

  1. Include live chat option that is visible on every page of your store to keep your customers happy and retain them.
  2. Sale pop up for creating the urgency for the buyer to buy the products
  3. There needs to be a strong color coordination among all the colors used on your store. Try to use the same or similar colors used in your logo throughout your store and in the social media business page banner or cover picture you create.
  4. Create a sense of urgency with countdown timer, ‘only 1 left’ features  and promotional banners highlighting ‘sale expiry’.
  5. Ensure your store speed is optimized. You can do this by checking your google page speed score. Minify codes that are redundant or apps that are slowing down the site speed.  Make your site mobile-friendly. Sample
  6. Optimize your user experience with easy navigation, proper spacing, alignment, font and color coordination.

Hi Sid

 

I like your color theme and the cute dog needed a pat.

 

I didn't get past the landing page as I didn't want a 10% discount and the banner got in my way. 

 

I like the idea that someone is available to chat and answer my questions. being new to Shopify, I didn't know this feature existed.  Does it need to be manned 24/7 by a human?

Hi Gill, 

 

Really appreciate your feedback, I understand these banners can sometime be an overkill, I could work on this and see what other options we have. May be keep that left side 10% tag and if a customer wants a discount they might need to fill in a email details to get a code. But really a good feedback and observation. 

 

Regarding live chat, it is not manned 24/7 but as soon as customer send us a chat message we get an email notification and can reply straight away.

Hey Pat A Pet store,

The order of arrangement of the header elements is a little haphazard. The correct order must be: "Logo, Main Menu and then finally Side Links".The Logo should be shifted to the left, then Main Menu should come in the middle while the position of Side Links is fine. Some other necessary points for store improvement are as follows:

  1. The order of arrangement of sidelinks should be as follows: Login, Search Bar, Cart and finally Currency Converter.
  2. The search landing page is disabled.
  3. More social links need to be added apart from Instagram for better customer association and centricity.
  4. The footer is too large which is quite awkward. There is a lot of empty space below the footer elements.
  5. The "Main Menu" need not to be a part of the footer as it is already included in the header. The order of arrangement of the rest footer elements should be as follows: Support, PatAPet and Newsletter.
  6. Instead of using multiple newsletters, a single newsletter should be used in the footer for instant discount and promotional updates.
  7.  Instagram images need to be added for better brand promotion.
  8. You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  9. Finally, I would also recommend replacing the default search with an advanced search like Sparq which allows synonyms, advanced custom tag filters, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.

Cal here from Shopify, thanks for reaching out to us. I've taken a look at your store and there are some points of feedback I'd like to share with you based on my own experience on the store: 

 

  • Remove the browser notifications, they're popping up before we even get a chance to look at your store. 
  • Then I'm bombarded with popups, and chat notifications. This is far too much coming at a customer before they even look at your site. At least try delay some of these popups. I'd go as far as removing them. 
  • It looks like an interesting product, where is the video demonstration? 
  • Your chat button is interfering with your proceed to checkout button, this is a disaster for store conversions. Again, I'd really reconsider your popup/javascript strategy.

You can start giving loyalty points to your customers on different activities like signing up, visiting a store, making a purchase, allowing for push notifications. This will help you to entice your customers and retain them. You can reward your customers in order to redeem those points. When you will give points to them they will come again in the future to make a purchase in order to redeem those points. This encourages repeat purchases which increase sales and helps in retaining your customers.

For marketing I am trying to get hold of some good IG influencers and am trying facebook ads too.

Hi @Neha, thanks for your feedback. We will for sure look through the entire website and do some changes as mentioned. I really like your idea of adding more social media links and also showcase instagram posts on a website.
