Hi guys

I am just getting ready to launch my site and thought I'd just get some general feedback before I do so (incase there's anything glaringly obvious that I've missed or if anyone has any helpful suggestions).

Site is: www.omnitrendonline.com

I am still sorting out the reviews for the products so please ignore that part.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Omni Trend Online,

Keep the below listed points in mind for better store improvement:

  • "Login" helps in better information security.
  • Create a seperate "About Us" section for better brand familiarity.
  • For better traffic and sales , you can Run some advertisements from the popular app Kit . Kit is the extra set of hands you’ve been looking for to help with marketing your store. As your FREE virtual employee, Kit will recommend the marketing activities most likely to drive sales.
  • You can also install one of the most popular app Growwave which is all in one marketing platform that helps store owners increase conversions with ease.
  • Filters are very important for customers in order to identify the correct product from the huge catalog. So, you should look for advanced filter options for your store.
  • Finally, I would also recommend you to try Sparq product filters and search to replace the default search on your store, this app allows advanced custom tag product filters for collection pages, synonyms, spelling correction, and other such features. Visitors with the search are high intent users and their conversion rate is higher than normal users.
Check out the features live here

May the store perform well after launching.

Hey

1. Header - Have a sticky header and a clear search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for. Example of Good Header

2. Invite customers to be part of your community. You can set up a blog and keep publishing fresh content out once in two weeks and this will allow you to drive traffic, help in starting conversations and build credibility.

3. Image numbers - Make sure each product has 3 - 5 images as that will help someone decide if they want to purchase. A lot of products I saw only had 1 or 2 images.

4. I think you should remove the FAQ and contact us links from your main navigation and add it to your site footer.

5. You must use live chat. There’s no way around it. If people have questions, they need it answered while they are still on your site. You can set up auto invites to trigger when certain criteria is met.

6. Lastly, as per my opinion you will have to create some urgency and social proof (social proof - once you start getting sales) in your store.

Social proof will help your visitors see who all has bought your products or who has added your product to their carts and that increases the trust of the viewer on your product and increases the conversions as well.

And as for urgency -

For example, I'm sure you've seen how amazon creates urgencies in sales by showing the number of products left, upcoming sales, or drive sales by showing how quickly they have to order an item to get quick delivery, right down to the minute.

If you want to sell more, boosting the sense of urgency in your marketing is the way to go. Making people feel as if they’re about to miss out on or lose a great opportunity is a powerful way to drive conversions.

One parting tip: like many other techniques, the urgency is best used in moderation. Don’t try to put pressure on your potential customers all the time, or they’ll stop taking your offers seriously.

Instead, focus on periodically offering great deals that really are limited.

Hello @omnitrend ,

I just had a look at your store, your store looks great. I have a few suggestions for you hope they might help you.

  • I have found that there is no “login” option, try implementing login form so that you can easily get the better secured information about your customers.
  • I have also found that there is no”about us” page, try adding about us section which helps you to tell more about your brand to your customers.

I hope our feedback helps you.

Thanks,

Hey @omnitrend

Welcome to the Shopify family, and congratulations on your store.

Your store looks pretty great on the first look, good job. I have a few observations to add:

  1. The first fold, as soon as I land, doesn’t tell me anything about what you sell. Even after looking through all the images, I could only find out what you actually sell by scrolling down. Consider updating the copy in the first fold. Be clear about who you are and what you’re selling.
  2. Add some information about shipping in a separate shipping page. Shipping pages are some of the most read pages on a website. How much time, shipping charges, etc. all of these details should be provided to the users.
  3. About us - You’ve given a nice explanation about your company ideals. I would say add a human factor to it by talking about the people as well - the team. Add pictures as well, it gives a more human touch.
  4. You need to guide users to the right products. Here’s what I mean: When visitors come browsing in your store, they usually look for clues for which product they should buy. Think about when you shop online on amazon. How do you select a specific product?
You look at reviews, what other people are saying. So adding reviews to products would be a good option.
  5. The 2nd way is you look for the “bestseller” or “lightning deal” labels on the products. You can use these kinds of product labels on your products to guide users towards specific products. They make specific products stand out and help in decision making. Apps like Modemagic can help apply labels to your product images for free. Not only just for “bestseller”, but you can also apply labels like “selling out” or “sale” to increase the #Fomo in users. The feeling that they’re missing out is a strong drive for people to buy.
  6. Product images. This is my biggest observation, on almost all products - I can’t zoom in on the images. You should add multiple images - which shows the product close up, inside etc. This is the only interaction users will have it, they can’t touch it and see, so be sure to add as many details as possible. A bad product listing is the #1 users don’t convert.
  7. Lastly, the social media buttons in your footer are not working.

I hope this advice helps out. Hoping for more sales in your store!

Cheers

Thank you all for your help - I am taking it all on board and tweaking my store accordingly.

As a side point, is there a way I can edit the original post to remove my website URL (or even delete the post) as when you type my website name into google, this post comes up, which i'd obviously like to avoid.

Thanks in advance
