Hi guys,

I would really appreciate some feedback on my store. My website is HKSoutdoorsupply.com . I feel that traffic has picked up since opening 3 weeks ago, but I am not seeing the sales.

I observed few points on your website, I hope those are helpful for your website.

-> You can decrease the size of the header section,So that user may not scroll down the page to view your banner images and simultaneously CTA also get highlights. Then its looking more gorgeous Too.
-> I see one of your item in view page, there is no descriptions you can add the description of items, An elegantly composed item description clarifies the advantages of the item and persuades the customer that they need the item as well as need it. Your item description is the one you need to catch their eye to in light of the fact that it can without much of a stretch pull in them and influence them to put in a request.
-> You can improve your Testimonials. Testimonials take the spotlight away from the seller, and shine it on the customer. Adding client testimonials to your website can be an extremely effective way to establish trust and strengthen your company's reputation. They are extremely powerful tools when it comes to strengthening your branding.
-> You can Add blog page, Blog initially used to provide a unique way for people to share their thoughts, feelings, experiences, and opinions and It is a huge opportunity to increase your company's visibility.

Your store looks very informative and dynamic, it is no way boring or overwhelming. The products seem to be of high quality. 


It looks like the mobile version speed is the issue. I recommend seeing the analytics of how many people use mobile phones to enter your site, and if the ratio is big, make sure to get rid of unused codes and compressing the images that you are using. If you have some hard-coded apps, ask the developers to optimize their codes. 


As for functionality, your site is not lacking anything. So I only have a couple of things you can do if you want to take your business to the next level. 


1) Run a referral campaign. The items on your site is something that everyone will potentially like, so by giving your customers an opportunity to share items from your store and get discounts for that will work great for driving more relevant traffic and also to build a loyal customer base. 


2) The review widget on your site is currently not working. Enable it on product pages to get more testimonials. 


3) Launch a Reward program. You can reward your members for completing certain actions on your store ex. for creating accounts, for leaving a review, for sharing your site, for spending money on your site. It is not difficult for a user to do and you will get so many actions on your site.

I just had a look at your store, your store looks great. I have a few suggestions for you hope they might help you. 


  • I have noticed that your header is so large try reducing it’s height so that customers can easily check your products and banner.
  • I have found that there is no favicon to your website, favicon helps your customers to navigate to your website tab while they open many tabs on the same browser and it looks professional if you have a favicon. 
  • Also, try adding SEO friendly titles, they help you in promoting your products and your store.

Welcome to Shopify! I hope you are well and safe in these difficult times. 

I was looking through your website and found a couple of things that can be done better. So I thought I'd share them with you.

  1. On your homepage, make the top navigation bar fixed - even if the person scrolls down they should be able to navigate to the rest of the pages without having to go to the top.
  2. Add the Contact us and About Us links even in the footer section. That makes those sections easily accessible from anywhere. 
  3. You do have pinterest and fb links on many of the product pages. I think you could add these to the footer section along with the instagram link.
  4. Most of your products lack reviews - this makes it tough to trust the product or the services. I'd agree with a suggestion already made on your post to add testimonials of a couple of your shoppers/people who like your brand. gradually you can add more reviews. 
  5. It would be a good idea to engage more shoppers through the community. You could post about your store or camping/hiking in general on relevant groups. That's more likely to drive in traffic more interested in buying.
  6. You could add some kind of urgency by adding stickers or labels to highlight things like sale/trending/free shipping. The Shopify app store is source of some really good apps that can add this kind of a focus to your store. I added one below which I thought might look good. What do you think? You can always look up more styles here.

Thank you everyone for the feedback.  I have already begun implementing a few of the suggestions from you guys. I appreciate all the help in being successful with my store.



I agree with most of the posters here on the work that needs to be done.

I'm going to throw my 2 cents in here. After you've completed all those changes, there is a good chance that you still may have a very low conversion rate. I advise that you start tracking your other metrics such as bounce rate, time on page, session duration, landing page, product detail rates, etc...

Those will tell you if what you are doing is actually making a difference. Because conversions can be so many different things, but when you see an uptick in performance in those other metrics, you know you are working in the right direction.
