Homepage Slideshow Font Color Choice

I would like opinions/suggestions for the color choice I've made for my homepage slideshow.  I have not currently separated out the slides in the code, so one color choice must be used for all slides, and for most slides the color choice seems appropriate.  However, I have chosen a dark font, and on a dark background (even with light shadow) the choice does not look correct.

 

Color theory was never my specialty, so I am asking for assistance/guidance on this matter.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Your store looks great. Color choice looks great. 3rd slider image seems to be empty. The last slider image is perfect. You should put slider images like this only. Other images don't look good. 

 

Feedback other than this:-

 

1. You can give product recommendations by personalizing the consumer shopping experience through gathered data, you can give better suggestions to your customers, which will then increase the likelihood that your customers will purchase a suggested product.

2. Start giving loyalty points on activities like on signing up, allowing for push notifications, visiting a store, leaving a review. This will help you to entice your visitors and will also increase the number of push subscribers, reviews, newsletter subscribers. A loyalty program helps in increasing sales and increase the retention rate.

3. Add a web push notification. It turns visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers. It can be sent even when customers are not on your store without getting their email address and bring back losing the customer to your store. You can also send an abandoned cart push notification, it helps to reduce the abandoned cart rate.

4. Add a live chatbot to make sure you never lose any of your customers. 

 

You can implement all these features to maximize engagement and conversions on your store. I would suggest you to install AiTrillion.com. Hi @AiTrillion,

 

Thanks for the feedback.  I will do what I can to follow your recommendations.  I asked about the color choice for my slideshow font because those pictures will change regularly, and I wont always have access to lifestyle pictures, given that I am working with several other shoe brands besides our private label.  I need to find a color choice that is most likely to blend well with any slide, regardless of whether it is white backdrop or lifestyle.

 

In regards to your other suggestions, I like them and will look in to them.

Here are some ways to make your store even better and make people want to purchase. Worked on a few shoe brands over the years running paid ads ... this is where my feedback will come from

 

Homepage Feedback

    1. The colours feel muted on the site... I think some help from a designer would go a long way to making the site standout more

    2. Carousels / sliders have been proven to lowers conversions rates ...limit how much you use the one on your site. No one is going to wait around to see what is on each sliders. Also there is no image on the 3rd slider panel

    3. Might be better to have a Contact Us page because not everyone uses the mail program on their computer. Also some might prefer for fill out a site form. It's also good to give customers a few ways to contact you online

    4. Consider adding a Featured Product section on the homepage (i.e. Shoe Of The Month). Pick one products and tell people why you picked it and what makes it great

    5. I would reword how you name your site navigation. Women's Brands would make sense if you had a men's section but I don't see one. Categories does not make sense for that drop down. This needs a rework to make your customers think less

    6. The product images on your collection/category pages could be larger and easier to see. Maybe only have 3 items / row instead of 4


Product Page  Feedback

    1. Make sure all your product images are the same size and dimensions. This is going to help tie your site together...plus this is the biggest reason people do or do not buy (all things being equal)

    2. Add a longer product description as this is how you convince someone to buy on your site. Plus it helps with SEO and ranking in organic search

5. Re-wording:  Would "Brands" and "Styles" make more sense for "Women's Brands" and "Categories"?

 

Product Page Feedback

The images and copy for the majority of my brands are provided by their respective companies.  This means I have no control over image sizing and copy contents.  Are there any practical solutions for this?

You could use "Brands" and "Styles" instead. If you have access to the photos, you could get a designer to resize the photos for you. That would be the best option.

Hi @DuaneBrown,

Thanks for getting back to me.  I'm glad that the word choice makes sense.

 

As far as the pictures it's not practical for myself or a designer to resize all of the photos as it's not uncommon for me to work with hundreds of photos each season.  Some of my vendors are at least consistent across all of their photos, but some vendors have no consistency at all.

Hi,  

I have gone through your site. Though it looks good, there are quite a few things missing on your store which if added can really make a lot of difference to the user experience, conversion rate and your overall sales.

 

Logo & Favicon :

Logo & Favicon -- Your logo should highlight your brand name. Add a favourite icon so users can locate your webpage easily.

 

HEADER & FOOTER :

  1. Header -- Have a sticky header and a clear smart search bar to help users locate the products they're looking for.Also a slide out cart, a cart icon with item calculator must have features. Login icon must be there for buyer account creation before purchasing.
  2. Footer -- Optimize your footer with more professional and functional look and also highlight your newsletter sign up so people who follow your brand will receive more updates about promotions and sales. There are legal policy pages which are missing in the footer that must be included for authenticity and security purpose

 

HOMEPAGE :

A lot can be done to your homepage to make it more informative & attractive.

  1. Banners & Branding -- Add hero banner with prompt CTA buttons that syncs well with your store theme & branding. This banner should include info like free shipping, offers/deals like 50% off, etc
  2. Color, Font & Branding -- Over All Text, Font , Paragraph , Alignment , Spacing , Padding etc should be more elegant so that your store looks well-organized, neat and visually appealing. Maintain the same or similar colors and fonts throughout your store to keep your  branding intact 
  3. Featured Collection -- Add all the top featured collection on the homepage so users know the type of products you're selling on your store.
  4. Featured / Bestseller products -- Engage your customers by letting them know the bestseller products on your store                                     
  5. Testimonials -- They add to the trust factor as when customers see what other buyers have to say about your products, it makes them more sure about your brand.
  6. Highlight your USP -- What's unique about your brand that none of the other Shopify merchants have? This needs to be highlighted in your store presentation, features & more.
  7. Trust Badge on Home Page -- This is important as this helps to build trust and assures your customers that your brand is authentic

 

COLLECTION PAGE :

Your customer views this page to have an in-depth view of the products and services you offer.

  1. Banner adding on Collection page -- Make your collection page stand out with interesting & creative collection banners
  2. Product filter for easy navigation -- Categorize & filter products by their size, color or type so users find product to product navigation easy.
  3. Product Label -- Product labels like % off, ‘New Arrival’, ‘Sold Out’ must be there must be there for the ease of the buyer
  4. Product Showcasing -- Clear product title and description , high quality images , reviews , related products , color swatch function, grey effect for sold out products , product labels . All these features make your store much more convenient, authentic, easy to use and user friendly.

  1. Features like custom swatches, product zoom in, product reviews, unique product titles/descriptions and  cart drawer that will make your product page more interactive and user-friendly.
